Should I stack tirz and reta, or just use reta?

I am an inbetweener, so I am not sure this logic applies. My Tirz is a brand name but has been free most of the year because a spouse's triple bypass maxed out our deductible/out of pocket. With 2026 looming, I am looking at options. I have slowly lost 30-40 pounds, but it appears I have plateaued. At 260lbs,I want to go further. Would you vote to continue Tirz (but from a more reasonable source) or jump to Reta. 7.5mg is my current dosage. Also a Type 2 diabetic and Tirz this has been a miracle for my A1C. Thank you!
I don't know the answer; I don't have diabetes myself. However, I do worry about you stopping the reta and starting a low dose (so you'll be able to tolerate it) of reta, and your diabetes being untreated. You could start at a higher dose of retatrutide, however, since it works on GCGR and agonizes GIP more strongly than tirz, that's a risky proposition. I'd say talk to your doctor, but I'm not sure your doctor will be much help: The doctor can't exactly recommend you take a non-FDA approved drug.

If you do start taking reta, you might want to start very slowly while leaving the tirz dosage the same. Then ramp up super slowly on the reta, checking to make sure your blood sugar stays good. I should have avoided answering this question since I don't know anything about diabetes.

Thanks much. That is precisely my plan. I am glad it sounds like a good plan to someone experienced.
