I don't see the point in sharing names at this level of visibility, as it may adversely impact the smaller communities I'm associated with. I'd rather not have my name associated with finger pointing, especially if it ends up being trivial.

As I mentioned, it is not a large vendor. If the notification that members received is relevant, it will most likely be a community-wide issue, given the topic, and will not be specific to this vendor.

Really, the only takeaway here is that it was a peptide-related shipping notice that seemed like it may be relevant to this topic, so I shared. I also mentioned in an earlier post that the member followed up by saying their package ended up moving forward through shipment after they called the courier, and they should be receiving it in a few days.

I had a package of peptides and bac water that was sent via DGHY and gofo was the last mile and it cleared Customs in a few hours and was delivered successfully. Package was not inspected.

It would take one company in China to either intentionally or unintentionally contaminate thousands of boxes with an otherwise harmless chemical to bring entire ports of entry to a halt. I’m not stating that CBP will not have these capabilities, but I am stating that I doubt their abilities. CBP is not known to have the highest hiring standards. The machines might work great, but the people that go there because they can’t get hired by ICE or Border Patrol do not.

It's a good thing that the goal of manufacturing/shipping this stuff is to keep it in a liquid form in a vacuum vial then.

I've used XRF's, SEM's, and a few other chemical detection equipment, you have a better chance of catching "weed adjacent" on a package rather than the stuff we are using on the OUTSIDE of the package. I'm sure x-ray's will catch a few, but honestly there are a number of things that are 100% OK to ship from China that are in vials (beauty products being one of those), so I sincerely doubt there will be a significant rise in seizures with any new equipment. There hasn't been anything really new in the detection scene that would be able to detect the contents of the package in a chemical accuracy without a significant ppm measurement (meaning opening it and testing), which there shouldn't be any on the outside of the package.

Someone posted in this thread already, the problem is numbers, and to get ACCURACY and VOLUME would take a herculean effort across all customs ports, which I personally doubt the US right now has that skill of organization to actually implement.

And let's be honest, corruption is the order of the day in the US right now, the more you clamp down, if there is significant money and less risk (how much does it cost for a pardon if you are CBP) then vendors will figure out where there is less risk and push through that way (bribing if necessary).

I think we can sum everything up like this:

- Trying to shut down something that people generally do not view as a bad thing has NEVER worked, WILL never work, and will ALWAYS be worked around.

- The ONLY way to reduce black markets of generally socially acceptable things is to make ease of access and cost more available (look at Piracy/Alcohol/Weed and all those things the government has invested billions if not trillions on to stop).

As long as GLP-1's are not killing people (which they will never as a pure form), then the more socially intelligent and enterprising individuals will be able to get a supply of.

It's hard to tell what this means. GLP-1 drugs from China may become harder to get or this may not mean much of anything. I would buy more GLP-1 drugs if not for the fact that I already have a few years of them on-hand.

Oh, we have the ability and skill to do it if we wanted .. but it would be expensive. Because of that its never going to happen. Let's be honest with ourselves, if they don't stop fenty from getting in, a drug that is literally killing people and costing our economy an estimated 2.3 trillion a year, they are certainly not going to stop GLP-1, a substance that is saving us money. Imagine if every obese person in the US was handed tirzepitide for $50 a month instead of $650. We could end up SAVING an estimated 1.4 trillion a year between lower medical costs, disability expenses, transportation and all the other hidden expenses related to obesity.

Nah, they aren't going to stop the flow of peptides. At most they will make some token efforts every now and then so they can tell big pharma that they tried.

Exactly! This is what makes me imagine a conveyer belt that dropping a bunch of packages coming from certain countries into bins to sit there for a while, making it seem like they are actually doing more inspecting. In turn this creates panic and worry hoping it will deter some from ordering from overseas. That's what I want to believe!!
