I completely agree.

One of the non-negotiables for me on this journey is sterile supplies (including filters!!) from manufactures that hold certifications in CAN/US and are distributed through well regarded medical supply companies.

C-peptide? Curious what you're looking for in regards to getting that (VS insulin, which you're already getting).

It was a baseline update test, so looking at pancreatic function and insulin resistance relative to glucose/insulin.

It adds $7 to the insulin test, and it’s one less variable moving forward, or looking back.

I spent $830ish last month on a broad (40 tests) baseline update testing and 8 week TRT.

I pay $25-30/month for membership which takes care of the draw fees and gives access to some panels. No draw fee how the $14 test was possible earlier this month.

Yikes! Do you have insurance or just don't have a doctor who will take these tests? I do have insurance but I have a functional MD and he just took all of these tests. I paid the MD $210 out of pocket but the labs were all covered.

Having tried 31g, 30g, 29g, and 27g (skipped 28g) for recon, 31g/30g are a no. 29g is where it becomes doable.

With Fitomics there’s no back and forth, no explaining symptoms so doctor can rationalize it, no “you don’t really need that but I can do it”… click buttons, pay money, have results.

My last two blood draws combined were under 15 minutes and less than a mile from my daughter’s school.

I’ve spent $1256 at Fitomics and have paid for the labs I know I’ll want for the rest of the year. I’m sure I’ll get curious at some point and do something more, but for that amount of money I’m happy to avoid dealing with people.

Yes "all of them" except 2 since I don't have that organ in my body. I don't have to explain or rationalize with my doctor either and I've had the same MD for many moons. Having a functional MD isn't the same as a PCP. The functional MD's cost more up front but can be worth it for the right one.

In my experience, any lab ordered at my annual physical is "covered" by my insurance (although admittedly, I haven't pushed this very far to test the limit there). Where I get hosed is that only "preventative" labs get paid by my insurance before I meet my deductible. Any lab that could be rationalized as being even loosely related to my diabetes diagnosis (in other words, just about every lab) is subject to my deductible before being covered. This is because they're no longer considered preventative and now are supposedly related to disease management. Since I have a HDHP and I'll never hit my deductible that means I'm footing the bill for them at the inflated rate my insurance and clinic agreed upon.

As they've figured out a way to get my out of pocket on the labs to over $500 for 6 basic labs, I guess that means this year I'm moving all of the "routine" ones to cash pay with a private lab (which will bring the cost down to under $100 for me and give me whatever minor satisfaction comes with knowing I'm cutting into my clinic's revenue by some small amount).

I would love to have a functional doctor or PCP that was cash only and I could text. I don’t have that so far so I’m my own primary care. I may change TRT providers to one that will file with insurance but that’s also only a grand a year.

I also have a HDHP… I may make my deductible this year if they approve a Rx for EoE. I doubt they will but the doctor is pretty pumped to get me on it which is kinda weird. If it gets approved I’ll run the numbers and change my plan next year assuming it’ll be cheaper overall to go with a lower deductible/higher premium.

I’ll still gladly pay out of pocket for my labs to avoid having to go to a clinic/office and deal with that scheduling.

LOL, with all of the specialists that I see:

Cardiologist

Electrophysiologist

Rheumatologist

Nephrologist

Sleep Doctor

Endocrinologist

Orthopedic Surgeon (degenerative spine)

I have no trouble getting lab requests. Especially since these silly providers do not share results.

But, a growing benefit of taking GLP-1 medications is that I see these specialists less and less. My every three month schedule for most of them is now Yearly because of my dramatic improvement in all the things.

I have these. First for the AFIB the pneumonia gave me. I had extremely bad double, double pneumonia that almost ended me, show that's the lung guy, Pulmonary doctor I think and the Ortho guy for replacement parts. Only a shoulder so far.

Filtering isn’t difficult. Practice on a low dose vial. Definitely worth it. A lot of experienced researchers recommend it.

Honestly might give those a try. I wasn’t exactly happy with these needles. I would like to get some that are luer lock so that I can have a thicker gauge needle for the draw and a thinner gauge needle for the injection

Ok yall got in late today from work, but the scale came in. My weight is currently 401 pounds. My first goal will be 350, after that 300. I haven’t been under 300 for quite some time now so I will be setting a new goal from there.

I still have not noticed anything from Reta, but as was mentioned earlier in this thread I am probably on too small of a dose. I do plan on taking my doses every 5 days, which would place my next injection on Wednesday. I see a lot of different schedules, some 5, others 6 or 7 days. What are you doing? Have you tried switching between the schedules? If so what schedule worked best for you?

I split dose for efficacy, I do Monday ~night/Friday morning for convenience and reduced mental load. I do test MWF.

Schedules are easy to track in Shotsy, but MF is simple and there’s nothing for me to practically gain from other splits.

Do what you want, obviously, but that’s unneeded. It’s more expense, and more hassle for water based peptides with minimal to no practical benefit.
