I’m not sure if retatrutide is actually working for me.

I’m currently at 7 mg per week because at lower doses I didn’t notice much effect. Right now, I can eat about two slices of bread with some salami and a pear.

Does this sound like it’s working? How much are you able to eat while on it?

How long have you been on it for? Has your appetite decreased from when you started? Have you lost weight? Has your resting pulse changed? Was the batch you are using sourced form a reputable supplier and tested? Impossible for any of us to tell you whether its working or not as everyone reacts differently.

To give you one more data point, I'm on 4mg Reta (almost a month now) and dieting is still a struggle rn. I'm pretty sure the product is real because I'm having all the side effects people say they have on Reta (sensitive skin, insomnia, anxiety, racing heart) but very little appetite suppression. So jealous of all the people here who are like "wow this stuff is magic, I took 2mg and I can't even THINK about food. In fact I have to FORCE myself to eat or I might forget lel." I guess I'm gonna have to up my dose and see what it does. I also ordered some Sema+Cagri vials just to have as backup.

I feel pretty satisfied on 1200kcal right now, but I haven't lost any weight for the past three weeks. I weigh 170 so it can't be right that that's my new TDEE... if it is that rlly sucks. My expectations for this drug were in the sky from reading other peoples' experiences online; I didn't expect to struggle this much. Never heard anyone else plateau on week 2, fml.

I get why you’re wondering if it’s working — a lot of people expect a big, obvious change right away, but for many the shift is more gradual. What you described sounds pretty normal. Feeling satisfied with a smaller meal is already a sign that something may be starting to change, even if it doesn’t feel dramatic yet.

These meds often build slowly, and not everyone gets that strong “full” sensation. Sometimes the first signs are small changes in appetite or portions.

You’re doing the right thing by checking in with others. You’re definitely not alone, and it’s okay if the progress feels slow. You’re on the right path.

Reta doesn’t just crush appetite or make the thought of food make you want to vomit like tirz and sema, so it does require more dietary discipline. However you are struggling, check your A1C and fasting sugar, if they aren’t low side of normal, add tirz at 5-7.5 per week with tirz.

The other side of Reta is getting some exercise. Even gradually uplifting your activity walking swimming or whatever you enjoy. Even a few times a week to start with . Then eventually move on to resistance exercises to increase your muscle mass mass , even a little more muscle naturally burns more fat when your resting.

Fruit , vegetables, fibre and of course proteins.

In my opinion GLPs help , with making healthy decisions, and help me focus improving the quality of the foods i consume, and the energy I expend.

Good luck on your journey 🙂

Have you considered tirzepatide instead? My experience, and others I know that have done reta, is that it seems to have more side effects.

I was on tirzepatide and on maintenance (4 mg per week in average), wanted to try reta. Bought one vial of 10 mg. Decided to start with 2.5 mg and to stack with a lower dose tirzepatide (2.5 mg too). My appetite was back almost at full force, so I ate way more above 1500+ kcal (reverse dieting), but miraculously my weight went down. I am not really happy cause already too skinny 🤣🤣🤣 (female, 41 , 174cm and barely 53 kg), but reta makes you burn more calories, that's the fact in my case.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, I am already thinking of switching to Tirz. I'll give Reta some more time because I do seem to be eating less, even though the scale isn't moving (also because I have 9 more vials sitting around that I already paid for lol).

What does the scale say, and like was asked, how long have you been on it?

Would probably need the 5W's surrounding your circumstance to really understand situation and offer opinioned insight. Sounds like decreased hunger though. What does the scale/ measurements data say? The one thing I have experienced is that you really benefit from resistance training/ cardio/ some type of workout routine mixed in with usage.
