Just wanted to post a quick update on my reta journey.
I started back in February, and honestly things had been going really well. The weight loss was steady, side effects were manageable, and overall I felt like I was making great, fast progress and I was able to get my nutrients in and not feel too lethargic. I've been on 3mg for the last 4 weeks.
Unfortunately, about a month ago I went through some personal issues that hit me pretty hard mentally. My depression came back in a big way, and since then my appetite has completely disappeared. It's not the usual supression i felt before either. There were periods where I couldn't eat for days and had to force myself to drink anything at all just to stay hydrated.
At this point, my interest in food is basically gone and it is impossible to force myself, so my average calorie intake could be calculated around 200 on average, 600 on a good day - sometimes nothing at all. Nothing sounds appealing, and eating feels more like a chore than something I enjoy. Even liquids can be difficult some days. Because of that, I haven't pinned in 9 days now, but the lack of hunger hasn't changed at all. I still have no appetite and mostly just feel empty.
It's been a strange experience because up until this started, everything was going exactly how I hoped. Right now I'm trying to focus on getting through the depression and finding a way to get some nutrition and hydration in consistently again.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, where depression completely overrode any normal hunger cues while being on reta? I used to binge when I got sad before this, but now I just starve.
