Reta anyone splitting their weekly dosages?

I moved to 4mg from 2mg three weeks ago.

So I split by adding a second 2mg. (Sun/Thur).

4mg split has nuked my sleep. I'm out by 10p and up at 3:50a like clockwork.

Skipped Thurs and going to 4mg on Sundays to see If I can get some sleep at the tail end of the dose.

I think reducing the crests and troughs by splitting kept me gakked out all week.

Hoping for better sleep.

Curious to see if that actually helps you.. I would assume that’s going to be even worse but hey, YMMV. (🤣 literally the first time I’ve used that).

Did I get it backwards?

Not necessarily, you may get that couple days of “better” sleep at the bottom of your valley, I just wonder if your higher peak may bring even worse sides, but it’s worth trying- everyone responds different.

Personally I would have either backed the dose off to maybe 3mg split, or let the 4mg split ride a little longer.

Just doing research here, wondering if people found any benefit to splitting their weekly dosages. I’ve heard it in lesson some of the side effects however, some people saying there’s no clinical evidence to support that. Interested to hear if anyone has tried both and what their results look like.
I split dose and am happy with it. Seems to reduce the peaks and valleys. I would get hungrier towards the once a week shot time and have heartburn a few days after my shot. I don’t have that since splitting.

Weight is melting right off.

Seems like that, based on conventional thinking. Peaks give sides, troughs determine efficacy.
Yes. So shittier sleep in the peak days, better sleep in trough days. Might be better than shitty sleep every night.

I don't split, since I've not had any debilitating side effects. 10mg/week.

If your trough days are therapeutically effective, you can have lower peaks by split dosing… you can reduce your overall dosage by elevating the trough to be effective with less average exposure.

Hold up. I think I get this. My trough days are effective. I get that split elevates trough. I can go down to 3mg from 4mg but maybe be therapeutically closer to 4mg by splitting?

Roughly, yes.

If the trough of 4mg once a week is effective, the trough of 3mg split may be high enough to accomplish the same effectiveness with less average exposure and lower peaks.

Thanks. I do want sleep. Gonna try the 3mg split.

Yes wife and I split our doses out to 2X a week and it has worked tremendously for us since we started our journey with Reta.

My sleep is currently struggling with my aggressive dosing, but you’ll have that on them big jobs.

Do you track your sleep? I bought an Oura Ring a couple months back specifically for sleep tracking more comfortably than my watch.

I don't currently. Moving to 4mg RT was the first noticeable difference in sleep in years. Awake 3:50am like clockwork.

I am trying reta after a good run with tirz. I tried reta for about a month when I first started, but I think I started too high for me (2mg) and found the elevated heart rate uncomfortable.

Now on this second go at it, I am starting low and splitting my dose Tuesday and Friday nights. I don't want a repeat of the last run, so I'm liking the smaller amounts at a time.
Can you explain your elevated heart rate a bit more? I noticed about 8-10 bmp increase at 2 mg and not about 12 on 4mg. I’m not noticing any negative side effects but am definitely concerned that my resting heart rate is now around 80-82.

Mines about 4 BPM more and sleeping it's 53-55.

Just adding that a split dose 2x per week has been working great for me. I'm still at 3mg on Sundays and Thursdays (6mg week total), it's more than enough for the desired effect. I only notice elevated HR during cardio.

yes it evens out the amount in system over time, keeping a higher more even level

smaller spikes and valleys.
