Wondering what peoples opinions are on food noise & appetite suppression on Reta as opposed to MJ?

Used MJ for 10 months last year and found it great for stopping the food noise and my appetite was near non existent. Seen mixed reviews from others that Reta may not have the same affect? I’ve started on 2mg Reta for the last 2 weeks and not seeing any real difference, do I need to be patient or is this normal with Reta?

Reta is not as effective for food noise as tirz. A lot of folks take both reta and lower dose of tirz. Some add cagri for food noise too

Usually people rate it this way, regarding food noise suppression:

Sema > Tirz > Reta

And like CNCCurrency above said -- people often stack Reta + Tirz.

Me, personally, I even felt starting 0.5mg dosage of Reta 😀

Before that -- I was really craving sugary things, but after 1-2 injections it was like.. meh, I just don`t give a damn about it no more. Very interesting experience.

I have just one week on Reta worth of experience to share but this has been my experience too. It normally doesn't take much for my brain to convince me that a little sugar of some kind won't hurt, but it's been very easy this week to say I don't need/want it. Might have one of those frozen Greek yogurt bars at the end of the day but that's it. Placebo effect? Quite possible 😅

I had zero food noise on reta for the first 3 or 4 weeks. After that it hasn't been as good but it's enough to get me by.

I don’t think I quite understand what food noise is/means. But I have no appetite suppression on Reta. Currently at 4mg. Previously as high as 7.5.

I did feel full with less food on the higher dose.

Food noise, my understanding is you don't think of food or desire food.

I was on 10mg Tirz/weekly when I started Reta. I started with 4mg Reta on same pinning day as my Tirz. Never again lmao. Anywho, kept Reta 4mg on Friday and titrated Tirz down to 7.5mg for last two weeks. Food noise has ben very minimal.

Plan is to hit week four at the same doses for both.

Then, on my new monthly cycle, I'm gonna move Reta up to 8mg and Tirz down to 5mg - still three days apart. And take it from there.

My body loves Reta so far and its got me feeling like a beast in the gym. And the small amount of Tirz will help with food noise, etc. I feel good with it. Maybe I'll even come all the way down and off Tirz to just let Reta work for a few months by itself.

It's all one big study right? But, what do I know? I'm a CAT. With a GRILL.

Food noise, to me, is the food literally talking to me from the fridge like on a cartoon. I’d make a weeks worth of “company chicken” in college on Sunday night to keep things easy. It was gone by Tuesday evening just to make it stop talking to me. Was i really hungry? Maybe some but it was mostly because the food was there. Then something else would start the conversation. Food hasn’t shut up since 4th grade. It shut up after .5mg Reta a couple months back. It was truly amazing. Liberating even.

makes sense! I’m not having any change to cravings which is my biggest thing as with Tirz they were goneeee from my head and it was the best feeling 😅

Yes this is such an accurate description 😅 it’s like a constant monologue in my head surrounding food! Have you only pinned Reta or have you used Tirz/Sema previously?

This with Reta is my first introduction to the Glp+ world. I’m up to 1.25mg or so weekly. I may add a smidge of one of those you mention soon to see.

I'm on 2.5mg of reta and have to force myself to eat.

We had chick-fil-a last night (I wasn't really hungry, but too tired to cook lol) - managed to barely finish a grilled chicken sandwich and ate 3 waffle fries = full

And that was a majority of my calories for the day.

Been researching reta since October and started low. Titrated up based on clinical data I found online. It has worked great but what I know is at higher doses the 3rd component in reta the GCG part that the others don't have, becomes more active. It stimulates glucagon activation. Not sure of all the sciencey terms but it is from my understanding that the liver starts burning and utilizing glucose more efficiently. When I hit about 8mg a week the food noise, or more or less the craving for sugar, increased a lot. After a while it went away. I know the other glps don't have that effect so switching from high doses of tirz may not be as effective at first. MJ is a tirz. Also I noticed after losing fat the body becomes more efficient in burning fuel and a big mistake I encountered was actually underfueling and having blood sugar drop too low.

Coming up on the end of 2 months on reta from a compounding pharmacy. Current dose is 3mg once a week su day am. The appetite supresssion hits hard Sunday evening until usually Thursday lunch. By Thursday evening im not feeling "held back". Started at 219 month one and lost about 16 pounds in February. Im very interested to see what this month ends up being. Body recomp in a big way so the scale isnt a huge deal to me. Ive done 2 inbody scans will have my third tomorrow as well as a dexa scan tomorrow. Fun fact check local colleges for extreme discounts in dexa scans. Mine will cost 75 instead of 200 from some other places. The glucagon aspect is real interesting to me. The research with higher doses saying it kicks in more and all. But I really dont want to chase some high dose just to see what happens if im losing. Calories are around 1500. 5 days a week of lifting workouts no cardio. Protein goal is hard to hit but if I could chug an extra 50 grams a day id be in a better spot.

I’m probably not the best data point right now, because I’m on both Tirz and Reta. I only use Reta as a mid‑week stack, and at a really tiny dose.

Tirz worked insanely well for me at the beginning. It basically wiped out my food noise, which felt like a miracle. It honestly changed my life, and anyone who’s dealt with that constant mental chatter around food knows exactly what I mean.

The downside is that I can’t go much higher with the titration, and after a few months it just didn’t hit the same anymore.

Reta, on the other hand, hasn’t done anything for me so far, no change in food noise, no appetite suppression. But again, I’m on a microdose and only take it mid‑week, so it might just be too early to expect anything.

I do think people respond really differently, though, because I see tons of folks saying Reta gives them major appetite suppression. I’m really hoping I’ll start seeing some of those benefits too.

I’m wondering if people that have prior experience with either sema/Tirz don’t feel these affects as much as newbies! Thinking I’m going to have to incorporate Tirz back in to have that again!

I have to use 2mg of Cagri weekly alongside my Reta to address the food noise. My appetite suppression is strong with the current 7.5mg of weekly reta so don't need to go any higher with that.

I find I have food noise at the end of the week maybe the day or 2 before I pin again. I’m guessing I have it due to staying on 2mg a week. Trying to stay as low as possible. But when I do eat I still get full quick and my cravings for sugar and everything else are gone or at least I’ve trained myself to stop eating crap

No. it's because of the half life of Reta is roughly 6 days or so. Meaning half of it is out of your system/blood.
