Hi there, I'm new here and just want to double check my maths here. my research rat is looking to start on a 0.5mg dose of R. if I I have RT10, and mix in 2ml of Bacteriostatic water, if I'm using a convipen is it 10 clicks for 0.5mg? If anyone has a way I can double check this that'd be great - just doing the maths in my head at the moment - and I'm not sure how accurate pen clicks are? As my 3ml vial when containing the above solution seems to be around the 130-140 clicks mark on the pen? Which is weird.

Yeah thanks Candy, it seeeeems to be right - but it's my first time so just wanted to be sure. Also the convo pen is saying there's like 130-140 clicks in it. I used a filter but does that sound right?

Someone else will need to chime in on pens.

I am just now researching them myself 🙂

No idea on pens. That mix would require a 10 units in a syringe. That works out to 20 shots at .5mg.

The Convipen dose range is 1-60 units (clicks). The cartridge holder shows a larger number and is an rough indication of volume (a 3mL cart is 300 units). If you want to test the accuracy, there is a video posted recently that shows you how and involves a separate syringe. Your math works - .5 dose = 10 units/clicks. Titrate to 1mg = 20 units/clicks.

those 130-140 are what is left after you purged your cartridge?

It should be 10 clicks per dose based upon your math. All the pens I have tried are one click per unit. 100 clicks= 100 units= 1ml
