Not feeling appetite suppression on reta

YMMV when it comes to appetite suppression. My suppression at 2mg was very mild. I got fuller than normal and for longer. At 4mg, it was much more noticeable for the first 4 days and then went back to mild the last couple of days. I lost very little weight until I got to 4mg, and now a bit. I plan to go to 5 or 6 soon. I trust that, even if I don't see much weight loss by 8 weeks, the med will do the work. I am opposed to stacking for now because I am trusting that the ability to eat is part of what makes retatrutide different.

Yeah I think I am going to go up to 3mg next week. I get bad morning sickness the day after but by noon it goes away. I was thinking of trying 1mg of tirz just for a little bit of appetite suppresion.

I just posted about this on another thread. If you are looking primarily for appetite suppression, Reta isn't the right med, Tirz is better at this. Since appetite suppression is not a primary effect of Reta, it should not be the metric you use to decide your dose. Reta is harder on your system than other GLPs. Just cranking the dose until it suppresses your appetite is not a good idea and I am alarmed at how many times I see this advice.
Agreed. Just cranking up the dose on Reta to get better appetite suppression is erroneous. You run the risk of really unpleasant side effects as a result, trust me. I've been there. Although I haven't combined Tirz and Reta, that pathway may yield more appetite suppression than increasing Reta dosing.

I’m on 2mg weekly and losing fat like crazy I wouldn’t say I have full appetite suppression tbh although I am getting fuller quicker. Food noise has diminished, however I am craving sweets more. Thankfully I’m disciplined enough and stick to my macros.

I’ve titrated up to 12mg and haven’t lost a pound. Did much better on tirz with a little Reta. Think I’ll add sometimes and see what it does

Wanted to get opinions here on appetite suppression. I am currently on week 4 of taking Reta. Week 1 was .5mg, week 2 was 1mg, week 3 & 4 were 2mg. The first week I had felt some appetite suppression but since that time I really have felt no appetite suppression.
I was like that myself. In the beginning at low doses the appetite suppression was excellent. I was like that until I got to about 2mg/wk. I have always had good food noise suppression regardless but now that I am up to 5mg, the appetite suppression is great again. The only bad side effect I really have now is that my exhaustion is back. I tried eating more to counteract it but it just makes it worse. I am going to stay where I'm at for a while to see how it plays out.

I’m on week 7, started at 1mg now up to 3mg. I literally have no appetite suppression. What I can say is that even without it, and only working out with a kettle bell for like 15 minutes 3 days per week, I’m down 11 lbs. If I could get more appetite suppression maybe I would stop drinking beers and I’d be down a lot more. But sincerely, it’s working. I’m losing weight, anywhere from .5-2lbs per week. I do notice that I get full a lot faster and definitely feel content after eating. Probably stick with 3mg for 2 more weeks then go up to 4 and stick with it for a month. If 4 does the suppress my appetite I will consider adding Tirz. I’m researching the forums a lot before I make that decision.

Would you mind sharing your weight and goal weight?

I was on 1mg/week for the first four weeks. Throughout that month I could tell my stomach was empty and that I was in need of calories. Sort of hungry, but not interested in food. When I would eat I would fill up quickly. Now that I am on 2.5mg a week, I feel this less. However, when I eat, sometimes I get grossed out by my food and don't want to eat, even pizza!

Just throwing this out there as another data point.
This. I actually asked in a TG group yesterday because I noticed that as well. Granted I did start super low cos worried about side effects. I had good suppression a lot less food noise. This has been a blessing because food is a stim for me. Anyway, increased to 2mg per week as planned and the noise is back. Still am full faster though, so not all is ‘off’.

Weightloss is kinda steady between 800g to 1kg per week, but I’m unsure if this is simply due to the lower cal intake or Reta.

I just started reta 3 weeks ago, and I'm on 1 mg, and my experience is kind of similar to yours, where my stomach is empty, but I'm just not hungry at all, maybe slightly fatigued after the day I pin myself, and am always cold because I've leaned out quite a bit. And it's just so weird, like, I just get full so fast, and I don't crave anything, not hungry, and there's no food noise. So it's kind of interesting. I don't even think I'm gonna increase my dosage because now the drug is building up the concentration in my body. but for you, when did you increase the dose to 2.5 mg? like after how many weeks?

I went to 2.5mg after 1 month at 1mg. I was starting to get hungry again. I've been at 2.5 for almost a month and I'm going to stay at this amount until I see a reason to go up again.

I remember these fears well, because I had great suppression on tirz and when I started Reta not much was happening until 6mg.

I started it in September and nothing really happened until 4/5mg and I was so worried it wasn’t going to work… but it did.

I’m only on 7mg now and the suppression is super strong. Changed my body shape too. Suppression is Almost too strong ( but you will have to prize it out of my cold dead hands) and suppression now I would say superior to tirz. But then I like feeling this way, other people don’t. It does for me take away some of the enjoyment of food, it tastes good at first but then quickly it’s …. Not.

I also cannot be in proximity to left over food after as they smell is intense and makes me feel ill. and can’t manage much but honestly I like that. A lot. I can choose what to have and im as happy with that salad now as I would be with a cheese burger. That’s not willpower that Reta assisted suppression.

9 Reta months and 42 Reta lbs down, roughly 28 to go. One month to go and I am Two years total on my GLP1 journey total lost 117lbs down in total. So stick with it and be patient titrating up!

My body is responding just not for appetite suppression. Going to give it more time since I’m at a low dose still and if not try tirz.

yeah I feel that definitely just wondering when that appetite suppression will hit. It seemed like after 4 weeks most patients had some sort of appetite suppression.
I think if you are going to start a GLP drug then you need to give it a proper go, it is a long term proposition assuming you have significant obesity, and working out if the current best drug works is worthwhile but it is going to take till you get to 8mg or more before you really know. And because you started at lower than the standard 2mg you have not really been on it for 4 weeks, more like 2 weeks. Swapping drugs after a few weeks at inadequate doses is not the right approach.

Not sure if you have lost any weight or not, if you are losing weight, then there really is no problem.

Given the total lack of effects or side effects, you are less likely than average to get side effects from dose increases, you usually get some kind of mild version that gets worse with increased doses rather than none, then bang awful effects. But side effects are a bit unpredictable, the only risk of increasing doses is of suddenly worse side effects.

But increasing to 3mg for a couple of weeks then 4mg is unlikely to be a problem , if you still have no effects, once you do start getting hunger suppression or side effects, then you need to stop increasing doses more often than every 4 weeks.

The other option with even lower risks of side effects is dosing twice a week, say 2mg plus 1mg if zero issues then 2mg plus 2mg the next week. Unless you are really insensitive to GLP's most likely you will see some effects by 4mg, but I would strongly advise not swapping to tirz unless you get to 8mg at least and preferably 12mg. If those doses of reta are not reducing hunger or causing weight loss, then your reta is no good, or you are the unlucky 5% that do not lose much weight on them, but if that is the case then there is no reason to believe that tirz would be any better. They are not exactly the same but they really are very similar in the way they work and their effects. And despite people saying reta causes less hunger suppression, it suppresses hunger, you cannot lose 29% of your body weight in a year and eat the same amount of food.

The first week I had felt some appetite suppression but since that time I really have felt no appetite suppression. Thinking of splitting my doses to half weeks. I know some people say tirz works better for that so would be adding a small dose of tirz be too early for this? Wanted to see if anyone had a similar case.
In the trials you'd have been on 2mg for a month already and be going up to 4 now. There is nothing wrong with starting low but if it isn't effective sticking at a dose lower than the clinical trials even start at for a month isn't helping and you don't need to start taking other peps when you aren't even close to a therapeutic dose.

I’m on my fourth week of 5mg/wk, and I’ve titrated up very slowly from 1mg. I had some appetite suppression on my first week, but almost none since week three. I get full quicker, but I have only lost a few lbs since starting. I’m not really on this to lose a lot of weight and I don’t consider reta an appetite suppressant. I could lose another 10lbs or so, but I’m not in a rush. I’m mostly doing an experiment to see if I could do a metabolic reset, improve my labs, recomp a little, and stay lean through my elder years as most people in my family are sick or dead. I will keep running reta, test, and HGH for the foreseeable future, but I am still hoping to experience the reta miracle everyone talks about.

I'm just about finished my first week on 2mg of Reta and I've been really happy with the results so far.

I was worried at the beginning that I wasn't feeling the appetite suppression that I was hoping for, but in reality it showed up quick and now I can barely eat half of what I would normally. I still get hungry, but need to eat a LOT less and I'm full. I like that I'm not completely put off food, as I feel I would be missing out. I've lost 7lbs in the week, but I know the maths so know that's not all fat. I find myself only wanting a small snack for breakfast and lunch and a small plate for dinner.

Also, due to the half life the levels will keep increasing over the next month even with keeping the same dose, so I'm hopeful I won't be building a tolerance too quickly. I'm happy to keep it at the lowest dose that's working and I'm fully prepared for the weight loss to slow down quickly once I've shed the water and glycogen weight.

For reference I'm a 40 year old, 6 foot male, starting weight was 225, 218 at the date of my first reta pin (Friday) and 211 this morning.

Looking to get down to about 185, depending on the amount of muscle loss I encounter.
