Hello from California! I got my introduction to GLP-1 type treatments in a clinical trial I participated in this summer. It was for a new combination treatment from Metsera that doesn't have a name yet. We received one shot a week for 12 weeks and over that time I lost 35 lbs! Within 2 months I had put 20 of them back on, though. Still, it showed me how powerful these treatments could be, as the difference in my appetite and digestions while I was taking the study treatment was incredible. I would eat one hot dog and be stuffed for hours, or order one fast food burger and be unable to finish it, where before I could eat 2 with fries without a problem lol. I lost all that weight without changing my diet at all or exercising (partially because we aren't supposed to change our diet or exercise during the trial so they can isolate the effects of the treatment and partially because of the lack of calorie intake I had very low energy levels). I probably ate no more than 1000-1200 calories/day purely because of the treatment, but I was constantly tired as well, I would be out of energy before noon and in bed for the night by 9:00 lol. The trial paid well though, and even though I put much of the weight back on, I kept some off and enjoyed being paid to lose weight lol. In general, the experience made me curious about the entire GLP-1/peptide movement, and I realized that it would be something I would need to do again, and better, if I was going to achieve the body changes I was hoping for. Unfortunately this would mean paying for treatment myself instead of getting paid, and injecting myself instead of being injected by a professional, which is a definite mental block I would have to overcome. A good friend of mine had achieved significant results doing it himself recently though, and watching him self-inject one time got me over my fears. As of 2 weeks ago I have started a regimen of retatrutide, ghrp-2, and sermorelin, along with a healthier diet and more gym visits than when I was in the medical trial lol. I haven't seen the drastic weight loss or appetite reduction that I did in the trial, but I have lost about 5 lbs and seen some muscle growth, and am definitely still eating less and feeling full longer, and I have had much more energy throughout the day than I did in the trial. I think this is something I want to continue for awhile, but when I get into something I really get into it and want to know as much as I can about it, so that's why I am here! I have so many questions that come up that I don't want to pester my friend with or fully trust him to have all the answers to lol. I don't know if this is the right forum to start asking those, but I will be around and searching for info and asking questions and appreciate all the help anyone gives! Thanks!
