I have been working my way through my stash of compounded triz so this is my first time recon and filtering. I had no trouble reconstituting but when I tried to draw it out of the original vial into the 3ml syringe, I couldn't get it all out. About 2 of the 3ml pulled up but a lot of air as well which then left no room to draw the rest. If I pushed it back into the vial and tried again, same issue. There must be a simple step I am missing. It looks so easy on the Youtube videos!

I Use a long needle 1.5 inch works well. first inject enough air so there isn't a vacuum.

If the peptide solution is very full in the vial you may have to work back and forth, tipping the bottle to expell air from the syringe, then pull more liquid, and so on.

You might try using less bac to recon, then use the rest required to flush your filter into the new vial. If not filtering (I highly recommend that you do) you can add the rest directly to the new vial to get proper dilution.

Almost all of these problems are related to a pressure differential.

Vent and it will solve this.

No need for a special vent filter needle. Get the cheapest syringe you have, pull the plunger and stick it in.

This is true especially for removing from the recon vial. However I had the same problem even with a vent to which I had stupidly added a filter. the air didnt flow as planned, and so I did the tilt thing and got peptide in the filter.. such a mess. and a waste since I was going to filter it after anyway. urgg.

When filtering into a cart or vial that you plan on drawing from for weeks or longer, you may want to add a vent filter.
