Hello! I probably have a similar story to many of you here. I am here out of frustration because insurance won't pay for my GLP1 unless my BMI reaches > 40 or I get diabetes/have a heart attack or a stroke. If I pay for the branded medication out of pocket, it's around $800/month. I figured, I pay almost that much per month for insurance anyway, maybe I should just drop my insurance and use the money to pay for the meds. I am relatively young and I only use insurance for my annual checks anyway. So I started exploring my options. I wanted to see if there was a more affordable option than the $800/month through my network's pharmacy. I live in SoCal so Mexico was looking like a real option. Of course, I didn't want to just blindly jump in without doing any research. Through my readings of wanting to know more about the meds, how they work, what different kinds there are, I found all these places on the internet with real people who are using the meds and have so much knowledge to share. One thing I appreciated in all my readings is just how knowledgeable so many people are and their willingness to share that knowledge. Safety also seems to be a big priority in the GLP1 community, which I absolutely love and support. I am still just starting my journey and have so much to learn, but I hope to still contribute meaningfully to this community.
