Hi all!
I'm happy to have found this forum. I'm 44 years old with a wife and 2 kids. When I was in my 20's I was healthy and fit because I had all the free time in the world to hit the gym, eat good food, and study/work. In my early to mid 30's I was able to stay reasonably fit because I didn't have kids and was able to keep up going to the gym. However, because I enjoy the work that I do, my diet fell by the wayside.
I got married in my last 30's and after my wife and I had our first kid (during covid) both of us slacked on our diet and exercise. When I hit 40, it really felt like father time had caught up with me...I had low energy, low motivation, was overweight (6'2" and 235 lbs) and felt terrible.
My mother was a nurse and uncles and aunts doctors, so I had always put my faith in traditional medicine and U.S. hospitals. I saw my doctor who told me I was prediabetic, he could help me with medicine - but I decided I didn't want to put medicine in my body for something my wife told me I could regulate with fasting and diet changes. I began skipping breakfast (black coffee only) and my wife helped me improve my diet. No medicine for me, thank God. But I still didn't feel like myself.
My wife recommended I see a Urologist in Tijuana, Mexico (we live in San Diego). Trusting her advice I found a great doctor. He tested me and found my labs were quite normal... except for my testosterone which was so low he was surprised I was able to father kids. He recommended testosterone pellets and I have not looked back since. I have great energy, focus, and sex drive.
I do martial arts, watch what I eat, and drink plenty of water. I also take vitamins recommended by my doctor and also digestive plant enzymes. I feel good but the fat, doesn't come off...father time has caught up. I have a young family and I want to be around to enjoy my wife and kids for a long time.
My wife, has metabolic disorder, and although she looks fantastic has to work very hard to stay in shape. She's been looking into peptides to help with that. I've heard about Ozempic but was not interested. However, when my wife told me Reta could reverse fatty liver I became interested. Overall health is my goal. Doing my research and educating myself before we take the plunge. Thank you for reading! To our health!!
