Over 50yo male, struggled with weight my entire life but recently my new GP made it clear that I have 2 choices, and one goes down a very short path. I am morbidly obese, prediabetic, and destroyed my lower back and knees. So far in the last 3 months I have lost 30 pounds, 15 before starting on the tirzepatide and 15 since. Still have well over 130 to go. Given the recent political rumblings I decided it was best to learn a little more about alternative sourcing, what is actually involved in using those sources, as well as to get a better picture from others who have traveled this path on what to expect. I already know at the end there will have to be surgical intervention to deal with the excess skin but advice/experiences on how to minimize that would be appreciated. Figure I will slowly up the titration on tir until I can lose no more weight on that then transition to ret. After that . . . well I see there are other even stronger GLP-1 analogs under development. In 18 months who knows what will be avaialble? Plus the oral options coming out for maintenance! It is a hot area of research.
