Hello. I am usually a happy go lucky person but the anti psychotic weight gain has been the bane of my existence! The amount of energy I have to put into managing my weight is insane and I still have a grotesquely protruding belly that makes me look like I am going through early menopause. I naturally was quite slim with little effort, so through the course of my challenges I have gained much empathy for those with naturally worse metabolisms.
I'm on Vraylar now which is supposed to be weight neutral but it apparently is high cortisol so promotes belly fat in particular. I'm about 15 pounds over my goal weight with 1 mg semi from telehealth. I lost 5 pounds on the semi right away then didn't lose another pound for 2 months, even after dose increases. I ordered 10 mg tirz from the grey market to start out on tirz and the grey market at the same time. I'm hoping the gip action will actually help with my metabolism, which seems to be the issue, not my habits.
I anticipate over the next few months I will focus on titrating up the tirz and seeing after that if I need to switch medication. I was thinking maybe Abilify because it's also supposed to be weight neutral.
The amount that I diet and exercise with no results is extremely painful. I have gotten so many injuries from working out so hard. The weight gain and injuries and increased cortisol makes me feel old. I just want my old body back and to feel good about my body once again, which I haven't since I started on the medication.
If anyone else has suggestions for medication for severe bipolar with manic episodes that make the weight gain manageable please let me know. On the plus side, my mental illness is fully controlled now. So I'm just complaining about side effects at this point.
If anyone has suggestions for what combos of peptides counteract the medication weight gain please let me know!
I promise in my downtime I am not at all glum and working on many hobbies, including wellness, gardening, entrepreneurship, spending time with my wonderfully supportive boyfriend and my pets.
Thanks for listening to me complain. Sorry for being a downer. If I can get this resolved and actually be a semblance of my former self I will consider it a miracle!
