I have been lurking and enjoying the discussions here for a week or so; thought it was time to do this super scary introduction thing 😉

I'm a female in my late 40s, been a fat kid since my 20s. If you name a diet, I've probably tried it. I have lost and regained the same 50 pounds multiple times over the last 15 years, and really, I need to lose about 130 pounds at this point.

I briefly tried compounded Semaglutide about a year ago through Weight Watchers but after 2 months they informed me they were no longer going to offer it. The price was so ridiculous I was having a hard time fathoming paying it not just for the amount of time I will need to lose so much weight, but potentially for the rest of my life. I did not notice any effects from the low dose I made it up to other than indigestion and heart burn.

I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder this last winter and was desperate for any relief from the pain and loss in quality of life that I had experienced for over 3 months. Neither my PCP or orthopedic surgeon had any meaningful solutions for me. A family member suggested I try BCP-157, which he had taken to help with Crohn's Disease and he noticed it had also fixed a shoulder injury he had. They were oral capsules and after 4 weeks, I had regained about 80% of my range of motion and the pain was so much less. I was impressed and so, so grateful. That led me to start researching the benefits of other peptides and I headed down this path.

I have been pinning every 6 days. I started with 1mg of Reta on March 19th and stayed at that dose for 4 rounds and then moved to 2.5mg every 6 days. I have lost 7 pounds during that time and have noticed some fairly substantial bloating and racing heart. I already had some issues with a racing heart that I take Propranolol for...I'm really hoping I can get off that medication if I can get my weight to a healthy level. I have also been on levothyroxine since my early 20s for hypothyroidism. Another thing I wish I could ditch! I have been hungry off and on but have found that I stop eating much sooner than I normally would and my desire for alcohol, which has been a problem for me since my late 20s, is next to zero.

While I initially intended to titrate up to 4mg after 4 rounds of 2.5mg, I am now instead considering either stacking a small dose of Tirzepatide with my current dose of Reta, or just switching to Tirzepatide and dropping the Reta for now (due to the racing heart).

Thanks for the great landing place to continue the research!
