Hi everyone. I decided not to be a lurker and created an account after about a week or so.
I recently started my GLP-1 journey after careful consideration from multiple peer to peer conversations and results.
I just started seeing a new primary care provider and once again had the please help me lose weight conversation. My previous provider and this new one both mentioned major name brand injections and how much it would cost. The new one even went as far as to say "I know it's not cheap, but it could change your life for the better... think of it as... it's only $$$ per week. Not the $$$$ per month." I really almost went for it. The thought spun in my head making me anxiously sick. I was going to start Zepbound.
So many people I know are apparently secretely on GLP-1's from one place or another in various generations and various types of paths.
So I used my ADHD hyperfixation to lock in on GLP-1 research and chose to start Retatrutide. My (perhaps flawed) logic is "FDA be damned, I literally watch people get sick from contaminated product all the time, food or pharmaceuticals. I don't need their permission." I'll have my drugs tested if I want to feel more comfortable. I had a long talk with my wife about it and we decided to both start Retatrutide.
Since it would cost so much less we both started in the "research" world before committing to full gray, mostly to see if it would even work.
I'm pleased to say it's working amazing. We have both lost 6lbs so far.
I've never felt so unmotivated to food. It no longer haunts me, I don't think about when the next meal is, or what it will be. In fact I now have to remind myself to eat, and that extra thought allows me to prioritize the proteins and better food choices that I need.
Neither of us are experiencing the G.I. side effects (pain, bloating, nausia, etc.) But we have noticed the delays, sometimes up to 2 days between movements, not really a problem as much as it is an observation.
I already made my next purchase thanks to this forum and look forward to continuing this journey.
