I don't usually make accounts on forums. I have a Reddit I check maybe once every few years and a YouTube I just use to watch videos. But I’ve been lurking here for a few months reading random threads, so I figured I’d finally join, especially after I almost got scammed recently for being totally clueless lol.
I’ve been on semaglutide for... three years? Four? I honestly lost track. I’ve been buying grey market the whole time. Started with some pretty overpriced resellers and bounced around looking for the cheapest spot that still took normal payment methods. I’ve been with my current vendor for a couple of years now. I like them, but I know ordering straight from China would save a ton of money. The real issue is they only sell 10mg vials. I want to switch to 30mg vials since I started using pens. I mix 1ml of water per 10mg to keep dosing simple, and it just feels wasteful to only put 1ml in a 3ml cartridge when you can't really reuse them.
You could definitely call me a super responder. I dropped from 230+ down to around 110-120 in about a year, and I never went over 1.5mg a week. Most of the time I was just on 1mg. I did bump it back up to 1.25mg recently because I was getting super hungry by the end of the week. My bathroom scale says I’m at about 10.5% body fat, 9.5% subcutaneous, and 3% visceral. I know home scales are super sketchy for those numbers, but it’s still interesting to me. I have literally never been under 145 lbs in my entire life. Back in high school, even when I was lifting weights constantly and had a full-blown eating disorder, I couldn't drop below 140 for any real amount of time.
I’m only 5'4", so my BMI is still totally normal if anyone is worried. I do want to start lifting and building some muscle though, because I’m suuuper scrawny right now and it doesn't look great. My girlfriend (we aren't legally married just so we don't lose our health insurance, but we've been together for ten years now) is on tirzepatide because semaglutide didn't do much for her. My little sister is on sema, but I might switch her to tirze in the next few months if her weight loss stalls out. She’s already at 3mg, and I don't really want to push her higher if it isn't working. I’ve even been thinking about trying an every-other-week rotation of both. I buy the peptides for all of us since my girlfriend doesn't work a regular job and my sister can't afford it. We all have state insurance, but even though my sister is very obese (she's down to 300 lbs now, lost 40 I think), they won't cover it since she doesn't have other health issues.
It feels kind of weird and guilty that I responded so fast and so well while my sister and girlfriend are struggling. My aunt is on tirzepatide too (or maybe sema? I forget the brand, but I think she switched to tirze). She’s lost like 50 or 60 pounds over the last year or two, so I’m hoping tirze ends up being a better match for my sister. I really only kept my sister on semaglutide this long because it’s way cheaper. I told my girlfriend to switch after less than six months when she wasn't seeing results.
I fully plan on using these peptides for the rest of my life. It’s just so much easier to live without tracking calories or stressing over every meal. I know some folks get mad when people say this is the easy way out, but for me, it literally is. Nothing else ever worked. I used to eat under 1200 calories a day for months as a teenager and still couldn't reach my current weight. My metabolism is probably totally wrecked from all the dieting I did when I was younger. Plus, everyone in my family is heavy, so genetics are definitely playing a part. I don't even think I'm eating that differently than I used to, even though I know people will swear that's impossible. I just pay less attention to it now, eat until I'm full, and don't stress. I probably need to eat more protein though, to be honest.
I also just started taking selank for anxiety. I’ve only been at it for about a week. I started with a really low dose at first (I get anxious about trying new stuff, naturally) but I finally bumped it up to 250-300mcg. Haven't felt anything yet, but I might increase it again in a couple of days if it stays the same. I started low because it was actually really hard to find good dosing info for subq NA selank specifically. Most of the research I found was for regular selank or nasal sprays. I’m also looking into getting semax for ADHD, mostly for my sister. I’ll try to update here if I notice any changes with any of this lol.
Anyway, that’s pretty much it! Sorry for the novel. I’ve just been doing a massive amount of reading and comparing to figure all this out for the three of us. When I actually think about it, it’s kind of crazy. I literally reconstitute all the vials myself, tell them exactly how much to draw, and they just trust me not to mess it up. Looking back, that's pretty wild lmao. It’s usually not a big deal since our doses are pretty set, but every single month my girlfriend still asks me how much bac water to add >_< It’s definitely overwhelming when I stop and actually think about everything I'm managing lol.
