I have an international work trip next week and dug out my passport this morning and looked to make sure I had the correct one and realize that I look nothing like my passport photo. My face is so bloated and big. My eye openings are narrower (presumably from the fat) and I have a large double chin. I have a frown on my face. I guess I could replicate the frown. The shape of my face is remarkably different. What was once a generous oval is now changed. I just realized as I'm typing this that I probably have what the Internet has dubbed ozempic face 😂. Who is this person in the pictures?

All kidding aside, I probably should update this picture next year. And does anyone know Italian for "I'm on the shot"?

Wondering if anyone has had any interesting interactions with immigration officers?

I look so different from my picture too! I haven't tried to travel internationally since losing weight, but I really think it could be a problem. I'm guessing you just need to get a whole new passport to update the picture? I think this will be a more and more common problem moving forward since everyone and their mother is on GLP1 lol.

You don't need to use language to say "I'm on the shot." Just make a fist and smartly rap it against your lower abomen on one side or another (the curled place at the pinky is where you bump the abdomen). That's how a doctor asked me if I was on any GLp-1's last week, and it made me laugh because it was SO instantly clear what the question was.

I’ve lost 80lbs since my photo. I traveled last week. No one cared. Even the global entry biometric photo could identify me no problem. You’d be surprised how rarely an actual human even looks at your passport anymore

So, I actually was refused access to vote besides a provisional ballot a few years ago, because they claimed my ID did not accurately resemble my 135lb weight loss. So I went and got a new driver's license and a new passport to reflect that. I had my global entry interview right after I got my new one, and brought both with me because I'd applied for the interview before I replaced it and the agent actually said "while I can tell it's you, that was actually a smart move because you just never know. Also, I need to know what you did because you really did a great job." A totally ripped agent telling me that made me feel cool.

I've traveled internationally a few times since my passport photo was taken 80 lbs ago, in 2018. To me, it looks very different, but I haven't had any issues. The facial recognition programs can tell it's you. They don't have those when you go to vote, at least not where I live.

Yup! New passport and new passport fee. But I think it will be worth.

Congrats on your weight loss, that's awesome!

I'm definitely going to update my passport this summer, because I agree with the agent that you just never know. 999 out of 1,000 times you're never going to have an issue, it's just that 1% of 1% and an agent having a bad day.

I really wasn't going to use those words, I was being a little facetious. 😂

But I love the body language version, transcends the language barrier. Gonna do that if questioned.

Thank you!

I agree, I felt like the risk was not worth it.
