I think some are designed to do that, but I've only seen those with certain beauty supplies from Korea. Maybe they just used the wrong type of caps?

No idea...but not happy about having it happen. Filtered into a vial I had afterwards.

I had an R60 vial that felt like I was going to break it. I used a credit card going in circles under the cap lightly prying up until I finally metal fatigued it.

I've never come across these but I saw something about caps that have arrows and they are meant to tear off a small section of the crimp ring.

I transfer and filter everything so I'm not too worried about breaking the seal.

There actually is rhyme and reason and it’s all spelled out in the New Member Posting Guide. “New Member” may be a bit misleading because age of your account doesn’t really factor into it much. You have to participate in the forum to progress. Zippity does like to have a few surprises on this forum, but the rules for what new members are allowed to do aren’t amongst them. You can buy a vial opener or I used a regular sized bottle opener but was very careful otherwise you will pop the entire cap with rubber stopper off. Just pry gently or order a vial opener off Amazon and get it tomorrow

I got one from there when I bought my Hospira. They do work but it's hit or miss depending on the vial cap. Some are just a pain in the ass.

Now that Zippity knows you can't get the top off the vials he probably started you back at the beginning.

We are talking about the foil cap and not the whole top, correct?

I usually just take my thumb and pop off the foil cap. Some caps have a place to stay attached, so you can pop it back down as a lid. Make sure not to open on that side, if you have that type. I have never had an issue removing one, even after being frozen.

If we are talking about the whole top, plug and all that is another story....and we need to have a talk.

Dont take off the foil either! Just the colored plastic part

I'll probably get banned, if at least ridiculed, but tbh if I come across a difficult cap and I can't be fussed to get up, I'll crack that little bugger with my teeth just to get it started. I'm the only one using the product and I alcohol wipe the vials like my life depends on it, so I'm not really bothered. And the few times I've had to do that, it's been fine. Just don't tell my Dentist.

I had one vendor here in Thailand who's caps were all a pain to take off. I would wash my diagonal cutting pliers with alcohol and after trying to flip the cap off, used them to cut it the rest of the way off. I've used several other Chinese vendors since then, and their caps come off easily.

I've opened A LOT of them with no concern about seal and stopper until yesterday. Had to fight several of them to get 'em started but the seal and stopper never budged.
