How long can I store reta in my fridge?

I have a 30 mg vial of reta reconstituted with 3 ml of bac water. Can I use the same one for 30-90 days? its the same fridge i keep food in. the vial is a plastic casing but ive been hearing people say bacteria can grow? im not sure if I should just buy a new vial or something. thanks!
 
Yes bacterial growth is a relative certaintiy given enough time. How much time? No idea. How long will your vial be safe to use? Also no idea. The conditions that you have are unique to yourself.

Use proper sterile technique the best you can. Use actual Hospira for recon. If something in the vial looks off it is recommended that you discard.

Side note - your post is the first I've heard of a plastic vial so that's new.
 
Is your vial plastic or is your glass vial inside a protective plastic case? Honestly, if it looks fine I'd just keep pinning it. 90 days would be getting to the top end of viability for me but I for sure used my first vial close to that long.
 
What you can do entirely depends on your knowledge base and risk tolerance.

I don’t know that I wouldn’t take from a 90 day old vial of peptides I reconstructed, but it would have to be unique circumstances for that to be my planned course of action.

My most expensive vial is under $30, and I have an ample supply of them. If I have reason to question a vial, I’d discard without reservation. At current dosing that <$30 vial lasts 7 weeks.

Depending on your opinion, splitting the reconstituted vial and freezing a portion for later use is a viable option.

Glass vial inside a protective plastic case. That’s what I’m thinking as well, 90 days will the max but honestly I think I’ll give it 60 days and be done with that vial. Thanks!
 
My first vial was R50. I used it for 10 weeks. I wouldn't go over that by much. If it's refrigerated and you practice good hygiene, it should last that long with only minor degradation. Studies have shown a 4-5% degradation over time, but mine was an overfill so I didn't worry about. If you want an exact dosage, you could adjust for it.

Did you make this vial or buy this vial?

The bac water manufacturers say 28 days, and hospitals discard multi-dose vials 28 days after opening consistent with this guideline. Now, obviously it's not that it's safe on day 27, okay on 28, and dangerous on 29, there's just too many factors and it all comes down to personal risk tolerance.

For me, personally, I wouldn't go more than a month. But I work in healthcare and I have seen firsthand the results of people injecting dirty stuff into their bodies, and this stuff is sufficiently cheap and easy to acquire that there's no reason to take any chances. The counterpoint is that plenty of people keep and use vials for much much longer than that without issue.
 
Vial Size / Product Weight

I am trying to figure out optimal vial Size to minimise the length of time I keep reconstituted reta in the fridge. How are people managing this? Is ten weeks too long if looking at staying reta at 1mg weekly?

A few answers in here around how long people are storing for.

Based on what was shared there I am comfortable going ten weeks for 10mg in the fridge with proper sterile injection technique. I'd be throwing out 50% of the vial otherwise. I prefer the slightly reduced potency from week 5 to 10 than to waste half each time.

You can do that? How much degradation will that incur?

That's works with Tirz, but not so well with Reta. I found a study that says Reta degrades in the freezer by about 14% after 30 days. It's more fragile than Tirz which is the gorilla peptide.

Can you find that study again to share? My assumption would have been around 0° F degradation would be less time dependent and more from the mechanical damage from the ice crystals forming.

That's unfortunate I only have reta, but I would have assumed that the formation of ice would destroy most of the peptide. Good to know that I could freeze a higher dosage vial even if there is some damage. That's what stopped me from buying higher doses.

Wait, the real shocker here is that you can freeze reconstituted Tirz? That seems crazy. I'd also love to see the study if you can dig it up.

Reconstituted frozen Reta degrades 14% +/- after 45 days. Reconstituted and refrigerated Reta degrades between 3% - 5% over the same 45 days. Reconstituted and refrigerated Reta degrades between 3% and 9% over 90 days. Reconstituted and refrigerated Reta purity is unaffected, even up to 90 days.

I've seen frozen retatrutide degrade by that much after 45 days, but not reconstituted retatrutide. In fact, I'm part of a test now where after 60 days degradation is minimal. Waiting on the 90 day results.

Right. Frozen reconstituted Reta degrades, not refrigerated reconstituted Reta. Are we on the same page?
 
Brand name Tirz (Zepbound, Mounjaro) has a shelf life of 2 years in the fridge, so one would expect that there is minimal degradation at that timeline. My suspicion is that it probably has more to do with no longer being sure of the seal of the vial, the rubber stopper, etc. If you want medicine to last forever, it needs to be in glass ampules. Now, of course, we presume that there is some sort of preservative agent inside the vial as well (I've not read the package insert), and the pH is also likely optimized for stability and prevention of precipitation. This will absolutely not be the case with home reconstituted peptides, and the standard method of filtering inherently damages the rubber stopper which is not the case for mass manufacturing in a pharma facility.
