I've been on tirzepatide for about a month and I can already tell it's going to completely change my life. As far back as I can remember, I was always more hungry than anyone around me. I always ate every meal fast, and looked for every opportunity to find stimulus from snacking. By my mid twenties, I had gained 120 lbs since my high school graduation, and was diagnosed with pre diabetes, among other things. My blood pressure was high and my liver enzymes were elevated. I kept getting bronchitis because I smoked. One day I just said, ENOUGH. I designed myself a better eating plan, found exercise I enjoyed, and committed. I lost about 90 lbs over the next few years. I just never got down below a 27ish BMI, and the rest of life happened. I got married. I had kids. My parents died. The pandemic happened, and I got the privilege to fight breast cancer during the shutdown. Anyway. I finally got curious enough to ask my primary care DR about GLPs and she was 100 percent on board. And then insurance wouldn't cover me, despite jumping through all the hoops, blah blah blah. Found telehealth for tirzepatide, which has opened my eyes. Suddenly it feels like a possibility again, that I might get to be that most healthy version of myself. I'm here because I am dedicated to lifelong learning, and there is SO much information to be learned if you look in the right place! Thanks for allowing me to share and I look forward to learning from communal experience here. To our best selves!
