HELP me out: Women's Hair loss from Tirz

I am experiencing hair loss also. My hairdresser (who has also used weight loss drugs) advised me to take Folic Acid. I've only been taking it a week so cannot say it works but I am hopeful.

Minoxidil (oral) works wonders. Only problem is it doesn't discriminate against any hair on your body. So, ALL hair grows faster and thinker. If that worries you, I would try the topical version.

Quick question... has anyone taking oral minoxidil had side effects? My back is itching like crazy the last few days. I am only on 2.5. Either it is the minoxidil or I started pinning a new batch of R30.

Thanks.

If you are of the male persuasion, that’s likely from your body hair growing in. It makes all of your hair grow like chia pet. I use a back blade to shave my back and it helps with making me not look like I’m an alpaca with a cat attacking me from behind. It’s also the best backscratcher on earth when you use it dry.

It's not directly caused by the medication. It's the weightloss. Some people swear by topical Minoxidil, but it takes time to work and it is toxic to dogs which is the biggest reason I haven't used it. There is an oral version but it doesn't seem as effective. I'm looking into cosmetic grade GHK-Cu and AHK-Cu. Just need to find a vendor as it seems only a handful of vendors carry them.

Hair loss caused by weight loss is TEMPORARY.

Minoxidil is pointless because your hair is going to grow back anyway.

Some have said theirs didn't grow back.

Not for some of us... it has been almost two years. Throw thyroid and BHRT issues in there as well. When you have had long thick hair most of your life it is pretty devastating.

Everyone's journey is not the same..

No.. female here. My husband said no back hair or rash, thankfully. I am going to see if taking it every other day will help. I stopped using the topical as I only wash my hair twice a week now..

I have had hair loss too ( peri-menopause and Reta.) My Dr has just prescribed me spiro and Minoxidil. Said it will take 6 months to notice any difference. It's life long once you've started but I feel like I need to try something.

As a person who had lost and regained hundreds of pounds over the past 40 years, my experience is that it’s the weight loss—not the Tirz—that causes hair loss. Then right about the time some shill relieves you of hundreds of dollars for their “cure,” the situation will begin to resolve itself. And the remedy will take the credit, but I promise you, this is just what happens when we lose a significant amount of weight.
My hair loss began while I was in ketosis from burning fat with aerobic efforts and Tirzepatide. I also broke out in a Ketosis Rash. Both symptoms have ceased and new hair appears. I’ve reached my goal weight, so I’ve tapered to 4mg tirzepatide, but continue my aerobic stuff and calorie restrictions.

just started low-dose estrogen patches (.025 mc 2x/wk) and compounded testosterone cream (.5gram 1x/wk) from my menopause specialist.
I’m assuming they’re on top of it but if you have a uterus you should have progesterone due to potential for endometrial growth.

Just trying to look out for a fellow peri sister!

I suffered massive. hair loss. In perimeno — with hypothyroid and stress and then add in the weight loss with sema / now tirz. I was in a panic. Hair vitamins didn’t do much but Minoxidil for a year plus HRT has stopped the hair fall. Haven’t seen the hair thicken yet though. But am looking at starting GLOW this year. Currently im on HRT TRT and thyroid meds.

Would love any follow up from the previous posts regarding taking Nutrofol (I started it just over a month ago) and those who added KLOW80 (GHK-cu) to their protocol to get some hair to regrow. I began tirz last July, lost 22 pounds and getting close to goal weight but man, this hair loss is seriously giving me some concern! I lost a lot of hair after I had my son, but it wasn't quite this bad. I am taking vitamins daily, Nutrofol, KLOW, and working really hard to eat more protein as I think that may be my issue. I am finding it difficult to force myself to eat more - which leads me also to think that perhaps I should really consider reducing my tirz dose. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?? I'm also going in next week to get bloodwork done with my naturopath.

I can empathize with so many of you in this thread. I'm 63, 12+ years past menopause, had a child via IVF in 2001 and losing hair like a dog 😱 . Thanks in advance for anything that can give me hope.
