My aunt is 65 yrs old and in terrible shape - she has previously had a heart attack and stroke. She is over weight and not taking care of herself but she does really want to get healthier so I'm trying to help her out. I started her on Tirz because it seemed safer than Reta given her comorbidities but it's been 8 weeks and she hasn't lost any weight or noticed any health improvements. She started on 2.5mg for a month and is now on 5mg every 5 days. I visited her yesterday and she is in the worst shape I've seen in awhile - very swollen, retaining a ton of fluid (which I assume is where most of her weight is - I spent the whole day there and she legitimately isn't eating too much, though not the healthiest choices judging from her pantry) I know you guys aren't doctors and she should see one but she absolutely refuses medical attention maybe someone has some experience with this kind of situation and could give some insight? I think if she could just flush some fluid and see the scale moving it would motivate her to more of the other health stuff I'm pushing but the stagnant scale and seeing none of the benefits I assured her were coming is bumming her out.
