Hello, I’m a newbie to this forum but not to retatrutide itself. I first stumbled across Reta in June / July last year, dropped £250 on a 40mg pen from a supplier I’d used for other things in the past and gave it a go.

Now, I know that pre-filled pens are by no means the most cost-effective way to buy Reta, but truth be told given how miraculous the stuff was and the fact it lasted me 10+ weeks, I’d be happy to pay that price 4-5 times a year for a repeatable experience. But therein lies the rub.

When I first injected, the weight simply dropped off, I felt great and my desire for food and alcohol went through the floor. It was an amazing, possibly even life-changing experience.

Naturally, I wanted more of the same, so I bought another pen - this time from a different supplier, but by apparently the same manufacturer. This time, I felt nothing. No weight change, no change in appetite etc. I tried dialling up the dose, all the way to 12mg - still nothing. The obvious conclusion - this wasn’t the same stuff as I had before.

So I moved on, and sourced some more, again from a UK-based supplier, to reconstitute myself. Reading Reddit etc. those doing their own reconstitution seem to have better experiences. I did my research to find a trusted, reputable supplier, even if I know the vials are ultimately just coming over from China to be marked up.

I’m a couple of weeks in now, just at 2.5mg this time, but again I’m feeling nothing. And now I’m growing a little frustrated that it’s either harder to find legitimate Reta than it was 6 months ago, or I’m doing something wrong. In my mind, one or more of the following scenarios has to be true:

a) both products I’ve bought recently are fake

b) my body is taking longer to respond second time around

c) I need a much higher dose this time around

d) I’m somehow storing and / or injecting it wrong

I’m just not sure how I arrive at the true answer. How do I troubleshoot the possibilities?

It feels like option a) is the most likely answer, and perhaps I simply got lucky first time around. But I don’t know that for certain, and even if it turns out to be true, I’m not sure where to turn next as I’d tried to be fairly diligent in my sourcing on every occasion.

Would appreciate your collective thoughts and experiences, as I’m getting increasingly disheartened. Thanks!

Any questions, please ask.

Buy from a supplier that has verifiable Janoshik tests. The only way to know for sure or if you do buy a kit of 10 vials, send one of them off to Janoshik for your own testing to verify the vials contain what they are supposed to contain.

With the limited information it's hard to say exactly what the issue is, or even what it just 'may be". You could have developed a 'resistance" by starting and stopping and now your body isn't responding, or you got swamp dust versus reta in the other vials, or?? I'm sure others with far more knowledge/insight will chime in and offer some actual useful info. I'm just here to cheer you on for trying to better your health! 🙂

So, you went from the maximum dose used in clinical trials to a super low dose and are wondering why you’re not feeling anything?

Honestly, there’s a chance all the products you bought could be fake, it’s common in these types of markets. The only way to be certain is to send them for testing yourself.

It would also help to know the calculations you used to reconstitute the reta, as I often see posts in r/retatrutide where people aren’t calculating their injections correctly.

So this much I did. The supplier had a recent, batch-specific Janoshik test result that I verified, and the vial that I received was marked up as this batch.

The 10-batch thing is something I intend to do as a next step, if things don’t seem to improve. I just don’t have enough knowledge of how to do that properly yet. Part of the reason I’m here, I guess.

Is developing resistance something that can genuinely happen? I’ve done some Googling but couldn’t find much that would verify such a thing, but I’d be keen to hear the experiences of others.

Not quite - apologies for any confusion. On my first go, when Reta worked brilliantly for me, I never went above 5mg per week - I didn’t need to.

I dialled up the second pen to 12mg purely to see whether the issue was dosage related, or product related. Given I felt nothing, I suspect the latter, but now I’ve tried another alternative supplier with a solid reputation and verifiable Janoshik certification, I’m not sure whether there might be something else at play.

Regards reconstitution, I used a 10mg vial and added 1ml BAC water. Then injected 0.25ml, which if I’ve done the maths right, should equate to a 2.5mg dose of Reta. Please do correct my if I’ve messed up anywhere here.

Firstly you mentioned pens , a genuine vendor won’t sell pens directly , now let’s go to main problem

While using that pen can you tell what was the MG and how much were you taking

Next : the other 2 which you bought did they have COA ? Verification can be done

Now let’s go to future what you should do

Find a good vetted supplier let me give you something if you are in USA or EU find a vendor with us warehouse if not , there are other vendors buy reta 10 mg maybe 3 to 4 kits , since you are ready to spend

Make sure the reta you buy has latest COA not old then 3 months , the reta moves fast so the vendors keep producing more and keep testing

4 kits might cost you near to : 400 or less if you find a good vendor

Test those with any lab you feel fit , and baam you found your 1 year supply in less then 1000

Now let’s go down to your dosing

You need to follow either the trial protocol : not recommended

Or

You need to follow the personal protocol

1: start with 2 mg , stay 4 weeks , go up by .5 each 4th week , also if you are stalled on the same dose for more then a week increase .5 , you will find a spot , for super responders it even gives good results on low does and for some it starts on 4 mg

Less dose does not mean it’s not effective , I am on 2.5 and it’s strong enough to help me loose 30 lbs in 2 months , you just need to find a spot for yourself

I hope it helps

I feel your frustration and I understand it! It's a new world for me too! I bought 1 vial for 150$ ( yeah! When you don't know, you make mistake!!) and no change at all in my body since 3 weeks. Probably that I am injecting my body with baby powder hahahah! I am here to educate myself and not make mistake again. I take all advices and help!

Dude, you're all over the map here. Slow down. Jumping from 2.5, 5 then 12mg. Your first issue is listening to the trolls on Reddit. Take some time and read here, and on the web regarding Reta. After that I suggest starting with syringes and then maybe move up to pens. Plenty of guys/gals here from the UK doing it. I also suggest looking for a reliable vendor that ships to the UK. I suggest using the search feature towards the upper right of the page. How do you know it's not working, weighing yourself, feeling full?

My impression that it’s not working stems from the fact that I’ve had a good experience on Reta and know what “working” looks like for me. I suppose it’s entirely possible that second time around things don’t happen quite as quickly, but while I give it a little bit of time to try and establish whether or not that’s the case I will indeed to some more digging on here for an alternative supplier. Thanks.

I wasn't trying to be a dick at all, but the fast and furious approach with the 5mg to 12mg deal kind of shocked me. I went 4-2mg, then 4-4mg and thought I could maybe stay on 4. Did one more pin at 4mg for 5 total and barely moved to scale needle. Tomorrow is injection day (all have been Friday mornings) and will be pinning 5mg, and I'll likely go 4 weeks on it.

There is a reviews section below where members here post their experience with different vendors. I would look through them and find someone with multiple good reviews to try your next order with. While the general advice is to never trust a vendor fully their are a few that have built up a decent reputation here and in the larger community. Also remember that while your titrating up through the doses even though your staying at the same MG per week the amount of Reta in your body is going up. With a 7 day half life when you take your second shot you still have about half the first dose in your body.

also when ordering pens how do they arrive? are they ice packed? I have heard one afternoon at room temp can kill the compound.

There's also a reasonable chance that you placebo-effected yourself with the initial pen. It's not like that reflects a weak mind or is anything to be ashamed of. I've placebo effected myself more than once with stuff I was excited about and really thought would work, then months later, when the "OMG I'VE GOT MAGIC POTION" effect wore off, I realized that it wasn't having quite all the marvellous effects that I at first thought it was.

I don't EVER fight placebo effect, cause hey, I'll take whatever help I can get, but I'm careful about holding something long-term to an incredible standard in case it turns out to have been that.

One issue is that if the batch you tried 12mg of, was fake, and you do that again with something that is not fake, you could end up having a very bad time. The odds of getting a week of bad nausea and or vomiting is actually fairly high from a sudden jump to 12mg, so I would suggest being very cautious of doing that.

I do not think tolerance to the weight loss effects of GLP drugs exist, but I do think there is definitely some early tolerance to things like gastric emptying and nausea over the first few months. And if in those 10 weeks you lost a fair bit of weight , that has effects that are almost the same as something that looks like tolerance. With weight loss you get hungrier, and metabolic rate drops with loss of excess body tissue using up energy, and later metabolic adaptation drops it further , then you stop losing weight on that dose, or if you are at max dose, then that is what it can do.

The above comments make sense, if you do not know for sure if the drugs are real or not it is going to make it much harder mentally to work things out.

But because of that initial tolerance effect , not having much response to only 2.5mg of reta, after having already lost weight, might just be because the dose is too low. From what you said I guess you were on something like 4 or 5 mg when the first lot ran out?

The lowest risk safest approach is to go up doses every 4 weeks. If you are older, have diabetes or any serious medical issues, do it this way.

If you are inpatient , and prepared to risk feeling pukey for a few days, the only safeish way to escalate doses more rapidly is with small frequent doses. It should only take 1 to 2 days for blood levels to drop back down to pre dose levels if the dose is small, but you need to look at glp plotter and know the absorption time 24-48 hours to peak levels and half life of 5 to 6 days. And make sure you really understand it before trying anything more complicated than increasing doses every 4 weeks. Side effects usually correspond to peak levels.

If you dosed 2.5 mg every 2 or 3 days you would very likely find a dose very quickly that either caused appetite suppression or nausea. As in 1 to 2 weeks. Any side effects at all , or significant appetite suppression, means slow right down, stop increasing and stabilise dose, and increase slowly from there. You are more likely to get unpleasant side effects doing this, but usually but not always they should settle quickly if the doses are small and frequent. Just add the total sum of doses over the preceding 7 days and that is the new weekly dose, you may need to swap to weekly doses slowly and carefully using glp plotter.

The best thing about placebos is that sometimes they work, even when you know they’re placebos 😂

Quick sitrep. Pinned my second 2.5mg of my latest, previously questionable (reconstituted) Reta vial and things are kicking in. Appetite suppression has arrived, and the scale is dropping in a way that it only does when on Reta.

So, I think I’ve at least answered one question - the product is genuine. As to why it wasn’t working before now, I’ve actually got two theories:

1. I just needed longer second time around

2. I ballsed-up my first injection

On point #2, one thing I noticed on my first injection is that the syringe plunged itself as soon as the needle penetrated my skin. ChatGPT etc all say this is not abnormal, but I purposely injected a little less deep this time around and that didn’t happen, and things are now going to plan, so maybe something in that.

Feeling really good in myself, a welcome side effect I also noticed last time around. Wonderful!

I’m in similar boat you you, I bought a pre-filled pen from a UK based reseller and haven’t felt anything on it… no weight loss and wondering if there’s anything in the pen!

I’ve just bought my first batch of ‘grey’ which I’m going to test a vial myself to be sure… hoping that will have a decent result with me. I was on Tirz last year and responded really well to it so was excited to start Reta and have some success
