To put this bluntly, I'm here mostly for my wife's benefit.
My wife was diagnosed with diabetes about a decade ago. When she was first diagnosed her doctors spent years throwing just about every medication available at her and nothing seemed to work.
In 2023 she was finally prescribed monjauro. It was the first time any medication made a significant and lasting effect. My wife lost 40lbs, got her sugars under control, and showed remarkable signs of improvement.
Four months ago, our insurance decided they would no longer cover the cost of the medication. Since then her sugars have steadily risen and every test gets worse and worse.
So frankly, I'm here to learn how to care for her myself. If the doctors cant help, I figure this out on my own.
My goal is to learn how navigate this all safely and hopefully learn from people like yourselves who have taken their Healthcare into their own hands.
