I have worked in mfg for over 40 years. Some of which had strict safety protocol. Also saw paperwork get pencil whipped to make production quotas. I can imagine its much worse in china vs the USA.ZippityDooDah said:You're comparing apples and gorillas.
Name-brand syringe manufacturers have all sorts of ongoing FDA compliance requirements like testing, inspections, and actual quality control including traceable batches (not to be confused with peptide "batches" which would be better labeled as "Jimmy/Tuesday 3:42pm"), and -- you know -- huge incentive to not kill a bunch of customers. It would probably take under 96 hours for a recall of unsterile syringes to be issued where if any kind of unsterile grey market product from China would probably have to kill around 96 people before anyone noticed.

Darn whippersnappers!BooneDonk said:My daughter, lovely child, hit me with that phrase around the age of 14 after asking when I graduated from high school. Smart ass is an inherited trait for her so I allowed it then and use it still.
I bought the V2's from AliExpress also. The were very stiff. I googled and it said to max clicks and push the plunger over and over. I did that and now they are all perfect.IshimaruKenta said:I did not like my V2 at all. Just wasn't smooth mechanically. Look into either a Humapen Savvio or an All-Star Pro. They're way more expensive ($40 vs say $9-20) than the V2 but it's such a better pen overall. I won't go back to vial and needle anymore. Just wait until you see a gansulin pen.![]()

I recently learned that the Walmart bag recycle bins are also for other soft plastics, so I tear the paper off and put all the plastic wrappers in with my bags to bring in. Idk what really happens to all the plastic that goes in those bins, but it makes me feel slightly less guilty for the waste.IshimaruKenta said:All the waste meaning all the trash that gets generated from making it.

I’m sure if you have access to an autoclave you probably wouldn’t be a proponent of using an Instapot lol. No worries I’m not here to argue. The continued experiments satisfy my requirements for safety.IshimaruKenta said:My buddy who does my carts says not to do them in an Instapot, as the temperature just isn't right enough. But I didn't really want to get in an argument on the internet.

I wasn't meaning arguing here, but on Peppy's. It also doesn't help that my friend does this for a living, so he's a little bias.loveisinthearies said:I’m sure if you have access to an autoclave you probably wouldn’t be a proponent of using an Instapot lol. It's subQ injections, you could inject tap water and probably be fine.desinr-gal said:well so far I seem to be surviving, Ive used 5 of them

There is no where to buy pharma grade carts. They all come from anonymous Chinese factories. Real pharma syringes are very easy to buy.X3rocks said:I have worked in mfg for over 40 years. Cartridges, syringes and other “sterile” consumables have a pile of paperwork behind them. Just hope all the pencil pushers did their jobs.
Is there a way we can determine carts and syringes were made in the US and not outsourced to china?
I would use PGB water if I was out of Hospira. But only as a last resort.X3rocks said:While on the subject of syringes and cartridges. Do any of the vendors supply bac water that the majority trust? Question is not for vendors. Aimed at buyers. I would think no?

I see BD available on eBayX3rocks said:Just read a few articles saying look for BD, Schott or Medline for quality products. Looking into it farther I dont think the general public can purchase the empty cartridges from them

They look great and that’s about what I paid for mine on a different website but they were on a crazy sale. The only thing I don’t like is that the aluminum stays cold and insulates the vial so my doses are cold. Even if I take off the cap so I can see the needle the product is uncomfortable going in.randompersonrandom said:Decided I'm done with syringe-in-vial, for anything. Sterile carts are as cheap as sterile vials, and I filter, so my stuff's getting transferred no matter what; so I may as well use a method that's convenient and more sterile.
And since I've been dabbling in different stuff, I wanted as many pens as I'm likely to be using different things; I had two V1's (exposed needle) and picked up five v2-type knockoffs on Ali express for ten bucks each. If I'm ever using more than seven different peps at once, I will go get another hobby.
These are nice and the one I moved my kpv to worked well. I was surprised that hiding the needle also hides some of the feeling of being poked. The cartridge holder is plastic instead of glass, which I don't love, but fine for ten bucks.
First pic, the new ones beside the V1, so you can see the size difference.

I got my gansulins before they went up, they were still around $60 then. I have 2, and 3 birds. I like both of them. I think my favorite pen is a humapen Luxura. I have 3 of those as well. I don’t like the all star- it has popped apart during injections. I have 3 Savvios, those are ok. Then I have an assortment of V-2s, a V-1, and some oddball pens. A black one and a yellow one, both plastic. They’re nice, work well. I also have a Mumford autopen - it’s ok, the bird and gansulin are better. I want to get a junior star, because it can dose in half units.randompersonrandom said:That's where I am; I'm not ready for a hundred dollar pen. The day may come when I've had enough of manual, and I have a burning desire for quality. For right now, I'm just super happy to have my ten-buck pens labelled and set up and ready to go. I never really saw the point of pens til I went to a pen for my klow, and now I'm to a point where I just don't want to mess with a syringe. Just wipe (it), screw on, click click click, wipe (me), jab, push, screw off, go about my business and no air added to my cartridge.

For people pinning once a week the saved waste isnt as huge as for those pinning much more frequently, and more kinds of substances. I was doing two five days a week and then 4 more every week. That would be 14 syringes compared to14 little pen needle caps..It is a big difference in waste for me!spyke65 said:Understood. But because I filter, my waste is almost equal. My 3ml vials and 3ml cartridges are both in wraps, I have to vent the vial or the cartridge to fill, etc. For those skipping filtering, yes the waste is less because you aren’t transferring the reconstituted solution from the original vial to a new one.

Ok, I'm glad it's not just me. Everyone recommends BD needles, so I got some. They are the dullest needles I've ever used and sticky going in, like there are barbs or something.IshimaruKenta said:I have some BD "Ultra Fine" pen needles. I've had more pain from them vs any others. I've heard their quality has dropped in recent years. Shame. Right now I've moved to Easy Touch and barely have any pain.

Buy a pen case. Just a plastic, 3D printed case. Who're hiding it from, roommates or kids? Not judging, just asking. I had to hide from my wife initially, but talked her into "ok'ing" it. She still doesn't know how many peps I'm taking but that's a different story.lemon lady said:I just brought the same one, it arrive a week ago but i've been too scared to use it.. plus it's going to be harder to hide in the fridge.. i can pass of a vial as korean skincare but a pen?
