Today I cleaned and sterilized my sleep machine, zipped it up into its bag and stashed it on the highest shelf of my closet. I had been using it for ten years.

I started Tirz in January, and within two weeks, my APAP machine began adjusting downward. Two months later, it was at the lowest setting. A month after that I stopped using it. I’ve been having my best sleep in years.

I’ve lost 45 lbs, but I’m still 20 lbs away from the weight I was at when I started having sleep apnea in the first place. I don’t fully understand the mechanism (though I’m sure there is one), but it feels like a miracle when the effect on my SA can’t be wholly explained by weight loss.

Anyway, I just wanted to share with the one group of folks who might understand. I’m so deeply grateful for this drug and for this community. I’m a GLP-1 lifer.

Congratulations on ditching the cpap. It's a terrible thing to have to deal with. This current stint on cpap was my third go around. But I talked to the respiratory therapist at my pulmonologist's office a couple of weeks ago and she cleared me to "try" without my cpap. So, I quit cpap and my sleep is still trash, but I think that's because of peptides 🤣. I honestly think that the sleep apnea is gone.

Meeting with my doc on Tuesday and will ask for a sleep study to confirm.

I'm thrilled for you! My buddy just put his away after losing 45 lbs., too. He's been using apnea machines for years.

Good luck! I hope you have good news for us soon. For now, I’m glad you get to wake up without weird lines smooshed into your face.

Wow!! That’s amazing. If been in a constant battle with my CPAP for a while. Mask issues etc. I can honestly say I have seen no benefit at all, if not getting worse. I would rather choke myself awake all night than deal with that. So I’m hoping when I start Tirz shortly it helps when I lose the weight.

If my mask slipped at all during the night, I'd wake myself by shooting breath bullets into my eyeballs, so I feel your pain. Fingers crossed that the Tirz works as well for you as it did for me!

fwiw, switching to the AirFit P30i mask was a game changer for me.

Yeah, I can’t do nasals. My jaw drops which adds to the throat closing off. And a jaw wrap feels like I’m ebineaser Scrooge with a tooth ache. I end up pulling it off in my sleep.

Yeah I know the feeling. My nose has been broken numerous times so air shots are normal on one side. I have a beard so have to crank the straps down so tight it cuts blood flow giving me a headache. But it holds the mask on and I usually don’t pull it off.
