Has anyone sought medical genetic counseling to address their weight issues?

I have low T, Hashimoto and fatty liver. Ozempic and zepbound did nothing for me. Retatrutide is the only thing that works at all with losing weight normally but i m not seeing as drastic changes as others have reported here.

My endos have put a referral for a medical genetic testing for July...I now know how to get retatrutide at lower costs, but honestly, if I could find an exact cause I would rather treat that first. Thoughts?

??? Bro, are you asking about the cause of GLP not working properly?

The exact cause of what? Obesity?

Genetic testing is probably more relevant for early-onset or extreme obesity where one gene is suspected of causing the obesity. In typical adult obesity, there are definitely genetic components, but those components are diffuse and probably involve multiple genes, such that testing doesn't change treatment or interventions. And there is nothing to "treat". No current gene therapy exists for obesity. So, even if you could find the "cause" of your obesity in your genes, there is no way to treat that first.

Don't get me wrong, I am 100% all for genetic testing and have had some for other conditions that I have, but even with those, it's more about managing the related conditions.

People have proven you can out eat the effects of a GLP drug if you want to. Used right, the drug will help you to make better choices so that you can lose weight effectively. If you are expecting the drug to do the work for you, you are likely to have sub-par results. Count calories. Determine your maintenence calories. Eat at a calorie deficit. It will be easier with a GLP than without, but the basics are the basics.

Interesting. Please report back on what your doctors are trying to identify, and the results of your genetic testing, and what game plan derives from that.
