But what does gas have to do with sending crypto from an exchange or a non-custodial wallet? I mean, you have to pay gas in both cases (if the coin requires it).

I definitely agree that you should not pay directly from a custodial wallet in an exchange. But you are making it sound like that can avoid gas.

haha - but you are missing all the excitement! How else are you going feel like a crypto hacker bro?! 😀

I wish I had kept the Bitcoin I used to buy in the days when it was still like $1. My only chance to be a billionaire, gone, poof.
Shortly after this post, I learned crypto bwahahaha!!!

I realized you meant the extra gas for the additional hop from the exchange to the wallet. I suppose, I deserve that 🤣 . In my defense, I was very high when I wrote that.

the tiny bit of extra gas fees are well worth the precaution

Thank you so much for posting this. I am at the stage of wanting to make my first purchase with crypto and have downloaded both the same options as you used so this is super helpful for me. I've used crypto wallets many years ago but I definitely needed a recap.
Can we maybe pool resources on this, I'm more than happy to contribute my fair share!

I have only managed to send £1.00 of solano to exodus so far but that is more than I ever expected to do. I will now look at the different suppliers that have opened up to me before sending udic Thanks for your very helpful post
