So in the middle of my first week with 2mg of ret and the food noise seems to be back. I was on 6.25 of tirzepatide and I wanted to make the switch to ret. Looking for advice if I should take another 1mg today (normal pin day is Sunday) or just wait it out until my normal day. 11 days since Ive had any Tirz.

I dont mind taking it slow, just looking for advice from people who made the switch. Alternitively I could stack some Tirz with it as well.

I stack the two of them. There are quite of people on here that stack them

Did you taper down with tirz or switch straight onto reta? You're also going on the standard reta starting dose from a higher tirz dose. So although some ppl say that reta isn't as good for food noise bc of less GLP activation, your experience seems completely normal bc you just have less GLP in your system. If you're ok with gaining a bit of temporary weight then just wait it out.

Try a lower dose of tirz to supplement while you titrate up on reta, then you can taper off and see how you feel. Of course you can always stack both indefinitely if you feel you need it

I moved from Tirz to Reta starting on 1/10.

I started slow with frequent 1mg doses, escalating my levels checking for symptoms. I’ve settled on 3.5mg 2x week to level off and evaluate.

Since 1/10 I’ve had 14 injections totaling 31.5mg. Food noise hasn’t been much of an issue, I did take two tirz injections (1/14 and 1/21) during that time to manage them.

Replacing 6mg of Tirz with 2mg of Reta is unlikely to control appetite and food noise.

Look at the plotter. Your Tirz is falling off fast and your blood levels of Reta will take weeks to come really come up. If you want to help them get there, take more frequent doses. I wouldn't go faster than every 2-3 days because, if you have side effects, you can't take it back. When I switched I, I went to 2.0 every 3 days and then started spacing them out to 4 days at 2.5, 5 days at 3mg until I got out to a week at 5mg. Reta is always a bit noisier that Tirz, but you still lose weight. I time it so my "noise" = "freedom" on the weekends!

That makes sense. Honestly I'd probably go the exact opposite. Weekends are where I lose progress so extra help is beneficial.

I didn’t think about posting the graph.

The Tirz peak was 5.6mg, Reta peaks are in the low-mid 9mg.

I switched cold turkey. Thinking about adding 3mg of tirz this afternoon and seeing how I feel with that. I think that makes the most sense transition down with one and up with another.

Can you share your current protocol? I'm thinking to do the same

Thanks

You’re nowhere near a therapeutic dose, and reta can take a long time to get going. Even if you add that 1mg you ask about, you’re a ways off from any perceptible “feels” from reta

My take would be that if you were on 6.25 mg of tirzepatide and stopped it you could easily swap directly to 3 or 4 mg of reta with low but not zero risks of increased side effects. Reta has a bit more GLP-1 agonism and it is mostly responsible for the gastrointestinal side effects.

If you want to increase doses more rapidly than every 4 weeks, then the easiest way is very small doses of 1-2 mg or so every 2 or 3 days, while watching levels on glp plotter, and monitoring for side effects or effects on appetite or food noise. Once you hit unpleasant side effects you know that is as high as you can easily go , or better once you get the required food noise reduction then that is the dose you want. The advantage of small doses is if you get side effects it should only take a few days at most for them to settle down, rather than a week or so for larger doses.

I'm so strongly considering doing 1 up, 1 down stacking on tirz/reta. I'd drop the survo completely a few weeks before trying that. I don't want to switch to reta yet, but I DO want to use a single vial so I know if I want to keep acquiring it for the freezer for much, much later down the line.

If I did 1 up 1 down, then it'd be

Month one: Tirz 7 mg, Reta 1 mg

Month two: Tirz 6 mg, Reta 2 mg

Month three: Tirz 5 mg, Reta 3 mg

Month four: Tirz 6 mg, reta 2 mg

Month five: Tirz 7 mg, reta 1 mg

Month six: Tirz 8 mg.

I'd run out of the single vial of reta two weeks into month five, but who cares? I THINK I'd know what I want to know by then, and I'm unlikely to gain back all my weight in that two weeks of lessened coverage. And of course I'd want to freeze 2/3 of the reta at the start and take the risk of degredation, because six months in the fridge is too long for me, but tirz freezes fine. Survo freezes fine. If reta doesn't and I lose 2/3 of a vial, oh well.

That's 100% based on bro science, though, I don't know that the strengths of what's doing what on which receptor would match up well.

I'm toying with a similar idea and have also been stacking tirz/survo and I am curious why you are considering movig to reta from survo?

Why are you considering change the stack up and down?

Yup, I stack and I am NEVER hungry. And my weight loss never stalls ( I fast if it does )

Fasting for hours or days?

I want to use a single vial of reta, find out how I feel about it, if I like it, if there are any major reasons why I might like to switch in a few years or might definitely NOT want to switch in a few years. If I do think it's likely that I'll want to switch when the long term safety data is available, then I'll keep very slowly acquiring a kit here and there for my stash. If I find out I do NOT like it much, then I'd quit doing that.

The stack up and down would use no more than one vial, and give me enough time and exposure to let me know if it's a reasonable option for me, but I'm so close to goal and I don't want to f around and maybe get further away while I'm playing "what if." So the up so I've got time to safely titrate up to a dose that would theoretically do something, without backin all the way off the tirz while I'm doing it, and then down to get away from it and move my tirz up to my normal dose.

And I don't intend to use the survo long term. I don't trust the long term safety of that stack. I started it to combat the tirz fatigue while I wait to see if it fades off in time, but I don't expect to need it when the goal is "don't gain" instead of "keep losing," I think my tirz is strong enough on its own to handle that part.

I can't believe in my heart that the ease and relative safety of grey will last forever, and I'm anxious to get my long-term plan in the freezer so I can relax, but I'll be so irritated if I find out in five years that I slowly hoarded someone ELSE'S long term plan.

You and I are very much on the same page. Thanks for the share!

Yeah, I've noticed you and me are super close on what we end up doing--we're on the same dosages of the same things, and I see you in the same vendor side-arenas where I am!
