for those of you who aren’t open about peptide use, what’s your excuse for your weight loss?

some of my close friends are showing concern and i’m not entirely sure how to stop their concern 😔

It depends on how close they are, and how private you choose to be.

I just told most people (including family) "Ozempic" and that usually made for the simplest explanation without the need for a whole lot of discussion. It's in the news daily, so there's not much mystery.

I've also used a one-word response with people who felt compelled to tell me that losing so much weight was unhealthy: cancer. If they annoyingly try following up, I'll give them the death stare and tell them I don't want to talk about it and don't bring it up again.

Not sure why there’s such a stigma around using GLP1 meds for weight loss. Losing weight has real health benefits beyond appearance. It’s not that different from taking blood pressure medication to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke or heart attack in the future.

At first I didn’t really say, then I started telling people I was using a GLP-1 and all I’ve heard so far is encouragement.

Not too many people will keep asking questions after being hit with "cancer" as a one word response.

It’s the stigma in our society that being overweight is a personal failing rather than a medical condition. And since weight is visible, unlike diabetes, high cholesterol, etc. many view glp-1 use as cheating or taking the easy way out.

I really don’t want to get into my glp-1 use, so I tell the truth with conviction. I say something like I’ve upped my exercise, focusing on my diet, working with a nutritionist to make healthier food choices, tracking my food intake, and working with a therapist to understand the underlying causes of my unhealthy relationship with food. It shuts people right down. I think the stigma of seeing a therapist is equally powerful 😂😂😂😂. What I leave out is the glp-1 use, because I am doing all those other things and that’s why I’ve lost weight. Tirzepatide has made that much more possible, but I still made those changes and that was me and not the medication.

I just gestor with my hand like I'm giving my self a shot in my stomach and say I'm doing the shot and most people say oh and that's it. That has led me assume most people have heard about it by now.

Just say your on a diet. I kept my reta use on the down low when I first started because I was a little embarrassed, but now I think it's the best thing that was ever invented and am telling everyone about it. I've become a drug pusher, anytime anybody comments on my weight I try to sell them on the magic drugs.

i've just told/tell people i'm on a cut and need to go to an underweight place to get the subcutaneous fat off i want before putting the weight back on in muscle.

I’m open about glp1 use, but I definitely don’t tell people about gray or other peptides unless I know them well enough. Some people I know are cool with it or even a little interested. Others would be appalled.😂

I have told my friends who asked. Others have correctly assumed. None have followed. 2 said they are doing it "naturally" but are still overweight.
