I hope not to ever need it, but there has been a study of home sterilization in an InstantPot. The 60min default time was, insufficient for the most difficult microbes, with times exceeding 120min needed for G. stearothermophilus, which is a food spoilage agent.

Assessment and verification of commercially available pressure cookers for laboratory sterilization

Laboratory science requires careful maintenance of sterile reagents and tools as well as the sterilization of waste prior to disposal. However, steam autoclaves typically used for this purpose may not be readily accessible to everyone in the scientific community, such as K-12 teachers...

Probably easier to get truly sterilized vials even at $2 a piece.

I'm not sure what the best source is. I found a few US sources when I was looking for BAC.

Peptidetest seems to carry different sizes/colors @ ~$2/ea in boxes of 8-25, which may be a bit more than wholesale, but not unreasonable, if I get free shipping with the rest of my order. Oh, yeah and look out for weirdo CC processing as I found when trying a new site!

From the original post though, I don't know about the Land Down Under, and I'd hate to get something screwed up with shipping and tariffs right now. Nobody knows what's up.

Shout out to those enjoying cold rainy Winter weather! Hope to visit again soon.

thanks for the responses, everyone.

The sources you all posted seem like a great price until I go to shipping costs which then doubles or triples it.

The Arse end of the world is great for staying away from Nukes, but ma sterile vials man.
When the Nukes fly, you may be the last to go, but you will go. But just think---you can go skinny...

Hospira makes empty vials, which are available at some online medical suppliers.

I have the large 10 mL vials:

Sterile Empty Vials 10 mL Glass with Flip-Top Caps 10/Box

Explore Sterile Empty Vials 10 mL for lab storage, medication prep, and vaccine needs. Ensure safety and precision in every application.

But I don't know yet what other sizes are available.

Farris Labs carries sterile depyrogenated evacuated vials. That’s probably the gold standard right there. I still just get KS-Tek off Amazon though.

Yep those are what you suggested to me when I first got here and someone was upset with you "spoon feeding" me info.

The ks-tek are generally well regarded from what I can tell, I ended up getting around 20 of them. Have yet to use any yet tho, but this weekend going for it.
