It appears the drug will be quite effective yet less effective than tirzepatide. The drug should be much easier to produce in quantity that the GLP-1 drugs. One person in the article suggests it could be much cheaper than existing drugs; I doubt that will end up happening. I suspect many folks who wouldn’t consider injecting themselves will use it.

I don’t trust this. Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are SO effective that it makes no sense to introduce a new drug, unless they are attempting to make it seem more desirable than the injectable drugs that are easy to reproduce by UGLs and sell on the gray market. “If it is not broken” and all of that.

It's not a matter of trust. They know that many folks will refuse to inject themselves because they hate needles. I agree that the smart move is to stick with injectables even after this new one gets approved.

I would rather take a weekly shot than a pill daily. Especially since it has to be taken on an empty stomach in the morning with a 30 minute wait for food or beverage. That's way too long to wait for coffee.

I misunderstood for a moment. I thought you were saying that users of levothyroxine have to inject themselves. Now I realize you were talking about waiting after we eat. (I have to take levothyroxine because my thyroid gland has been totally removed.)
