They're cheaper, yes, but less scummy overall. They publish annual transparency reports and last year they only provided info for 50something percent of government data requests. They're known for actually asking for warrants before just handing it over.

Also they are the only one to keep Monero listed despite massive pressure to delist it. XMR is how you truly destroy the forensic trail on the blockchain and everyone knows it.

Their customer service is also good. And they don't get hacked as often as other exchanges. (Everyone's been hit)

I also like their android app it's intuitive.
Thanks. I'll give Kraken a try for my next transaction.

I used paypal yesterday and transferred the funds to an exchange account then swap to USDC. No issues with paypal. The reason I like using paypal is there is no fees to use your debit card, whereas others charge a 1.5-2% transaction fees to use CC/DC.

So basically skipping the middle man? Any trouble with you bank not letting the transaction go through?
Correct. No issues with my bank but I did start off with doing small transfers.

Who here is fluent in buying crypto through Exodus using a debit card? I have been using PP, but they have went off the deep end. I know several people who can't get reverified to use their accounts. I have researched doing the straight purchase, but would like some help to cover my butt.

There are a still a few old school vendors who take Alipay....

Just so you know, buying and swapping crypto is very expensive within Exodus. Very high fees. You should consider going the usual route of getting an account on an exchange (Kraken, Coinbase etc.).

I opened a Kraken, and from what I can tell I'm froze for 4 to 7 days because it's a new account. I can't do anything but buy and let it sit there. Thank you for the info though. Just trying to pay my guy for my goodies.

This Granny is 1 of a kind. But in all honesty it took me 2 days to set up my Exodus and figure out how to use PP. And it wasn't pretty, I had a couple of meltdowns. LOL

Were you sending the currency of your choice to a vendor, or your own non-PayPal wallet?

Cashapp, Venmo, PayPal etc all keep tabs on wallet addresses that frequently get payments that look gray or illegal. They get blacklisted, and you’re prevented from sending that address any crypto. Sometimes if they’re feeling bold they might freeze your account.

The fix, use a wallet of your own to send crypto to, first. Exodus is out there, Kraken is another… there are tons.

So, usually goes CashApp/Venmo/Paypal/etc ——> Your Wallet ——> vendor.

Also, if I misunderstood your issue, I’m sorry for that semi long winded answer.
what about Coin base vs Exodus? Curious more than anything... Thank you in Advance!

It really can be overwhelming at first. Glad you figured it out!

I had this same issue today for the first time. Both on mobile and desktop.
Same for me. They say it happened when they did an update. But that was supposedly 3/4 weeks ago. You'd think by now it would be fixed.

It will depend on what you mean by coinbase. If it is coinbase's actual wallet, then once the transaction clears the exchange, its all yours. But, if you're just using the exchange like one would on CashApp, no soup... I mean, key for you!
