Dosing schedule

I was going to start low and slow with a more traditional 1 month period before titrating up. I don't have a lot of weight to lose maybe 20 to 30 pounds. I did think that once I hit that goal I would slowly titrate back down as long as I was able to maintain where I was. Seeing so many people talk about jumping up so quickly makes me wonder if my logic is flawed.

I don't think your logic is flawed. What I've been reading is people sometimes start low, eval how effective the dose is, eval side effects if any and then adjust from there?

Edit: okay that's the definition of titrate lol just looked it up

Yes, my lips have been dry and my legs ashy lol and I've been pounding electrolyte drink like crazy and using the bathroom alot. But I think my body is getting used to the reta because I'm doing better this afternoon, experiencing no side effects now.
My lips are also dry as well, and I think what's going on is because of the calorie deficit daily, I get cold pretty fast and easily now. So I think it might also be happening to you as well that the cold is the reason why we are so dehydrated and lips getting dry and ashy feeling everywhere. Im constantly applying lotion now.

I've just started but my experience is that I feel warmer but not hot. I'm not sure it's dehydration at this point because my pee has been hay colored which means I'm properly hydrated. I'm also applying lotion and lip balm twice a day.

Consistency is key. I haven't really lost anything this last week because my appetite has been getting the better of me, and I don't have access to a gym so I rely on cardio alone to push it along. I also have an extremely unfulfilling personal life and am unemployed; the earlier progress and the current plateau can both be attributed to this in a way, lol.

That's a problem I wouldn't mind having.

I think appetite suppression was the best for me around the 3 week mark, at 2.3mg per week.

Starting weight was 236, current weight is around 217. 6 foot white male. Goal weight is 185, but when I get closer to 200 or the appetite suppression wears off I'm going to have to rethink my approach and gain access to a gym. I'm not a particularly motivated individual and I have poor self control, so this is all pretty difficult.

Thanks for asking me about my favorite topic 🙂
haha for real! its a good problem to have dw you're gonna get there eventually. as you said consistency is key.

I'm not sure what my true body fat percentage is, but the scale I use reads 11%, but I'm not sure if it's super accurate or not, but I am looking kind of like a freak, like veins everywhere and stuff.

And I think the appetite suppression was good for you at the three week mark because the half-life is six days, so as you keep pinning weekly, the reta concentration builds up in your system and so does the potency. And also, I'm not sure if this is true or not, but as you slowly lose weight, I think the reta hits you harder because there's more of it in your system and there's less of you, if that makes sense. Also, you may have to start hitting the gym and getting in the protein because you don't want the muscle to go away with the weight loss. and for motivation, you got me!! dont worry and keep the consistency going and eventually you'll hit your goal weight!! 💪💪

For Reta, I just went by the dosage schedule when googling Retatrutide dosing. I just switched from Reta to Tirz as the food noise was STRONG on Reta and I wasn't losing, but I actually gained 5-10lbs. I didn't taper off, I just stopped the reta and went straight to Tirz on the 4th week dose and It hasn't bothered me whatsoever and the food noise has quieted down a LOT. I will say, that .5mg increase a week isn't much of an increase. I would go by the dosage charts, but unlike Sema and Tirz, there are a few of them, just pick which one is best for you. Also, If you aren't switching, there is no need to titrate DOWN, just to get off of it, it's not going to hurt you to stop cold turkey.

My suggestion would be start at 1mg and see how it goes. Lots of people have enough success at 1mg and never need to go up, but I would play it by ear instead of pre-planning it out. Find the lowest effective dose that works for you and don't go up until you feel you need to.

I don't know what's going on with me then because my pee is clear, so I am drinking quite a lot of water, but my throat and tongue and all that, it gets very dry if I stop drinking water for like 10 or 20 minutes, so I'm like constantly sipping throughout the day. So maybe I am hydrated water-wise, but there must be something else. But this only started happening after I started reta.

Cold is a pretty common side (seems to come and go for me, first week was the most noticeable)

Pinned my second .5mg dose today. 4 days after my first dose. I was feeling great today and had no side effects this afternoon so I decided I'd give it a shot, with the weekend coming up if I have any side effects I can just ride them out if I need to. 👍🏾

Cold is not necessarily a side effect of reta, it is a side effect of a calorie deficit. So before I started using reta, I would still get cold. And it's because I only eat one meal a day. So near the end of the day is when I eat, and that's when I am the coldest. But cold is even worse on reta for me right now because I'm in a bigger deficit.

I think the idea of stopping at some point is interesting. I am also already lean and am using the med to not have to struggle so much with hunger. We all kind of have an internal set point of when hunger gets turned off while eating and mine wants me to be a lot heavier than I am. I battled tooth and nail over years to get to my current weight. Now it’s easy on glp1, which I very recently started. I suspect when you stop you will drift back to your old weight but, who knows? I hope that’s not the case and you don’t need it forever.

Reta is definitely not for me or not made for someone like me, but I am using it to get absolutely shredded and maybe maintain that look year round. And I'm already extremely lean and cold basically 24/7. And when you're that lean, hunger is inevitable. But right now, on reta I feel zero hunger, zero cravings. So, I don't think I will stop, and I will probably be maintaining 1 mg a week for the rest of my life, unless I need to titrate up, which I don't think so, because I've been on 1 mg since four weeks ago. So I see really no point in stopping, because once you reach your goal weight and desired look, and you're also still pretty much keeping up that lifestyle of eating good, and working out. Then why stop? And a lot of people I've read and watched a lot of videos say once they get off of reta, the appetite is no longer being suppressed, they get hungry, and I don't want that at all. So this is more of a, like a longevity thing. And I still can eat on reta, just not as much as I used to. So I think for like maintenance and longevity purposes, you most likely will need it forever. And if you get off of it, then you will feel hungry and may drift back to your old weight.

I think I'll eventually be on a maintenance for the rest of my life as well for longevity and to feel great and look good. Why not? Health is the most important thing to me, especially now that I'm in my 40s. I want to be around for my family and to enjoy life as long as possible.

Wow, lot of interesting info here re: the side effects differences between everyone here. Helpful to know should I ever try it...

Also wasn't aware about the RHR effects. Does anyone wear a whoop or similar? Would really like to see some actual data behind it.

I'm glad I'm choosing to go low and slow. Going to bump up my 2x a week dose to .7 tomorrow.

I heard the higher resting heart rate is more an issue at higher doses 8mg/12mg?

My HR went up 4-6 bpm from 70-72 on Reta. Currently on 8mg. I check when I got up, 68 bpm and 100% O2.
