I am not in the US but what happens there affects everyone else whether we like it or not. Good article explaining some of the complexities of the system there , it never made any kind of sense before, it still does not make much sense but at least it explains some of it.

Much simpler in Aus it is all illegal, but they don't bother enforcing it much.

"State laws cannot permit what federal law prohibits." If U.S. States can license storefronts to sell Federally-banned cannabis for recreational use without any sort of prescription, what's to prevent them from doing the same with peptides (assuming in-state API factories)?

And to go off on a tangent, a friend's best guess about what "feinereich" is up to is that they're doing venture-capital due diligence with the goal of acquiring or modeling high-performing grey vendors in preparation for the sort of changes (503C and beyond, as speculated in the article) that not only might be coming up, but that they'd lobby for. This would help explain their emphasis on domestic, single-vial vendors and their use of domestic laboratories, as well as the dollar amounts that seem incomprehensible to us non-VC plebeians.

Big Pharma also has their sights set on monetizing them ala SS-31, TA-1 and Tesamorelin and money is the only thing that works in Congress 100% of the time.

This...! The monetization.

If they can tweak the peptide just enough to be able to get a patent on it...but I am not sure how that would translate to grey market peptides, which to my understanding is notoriously difficult to patent as they naturally occur in the human body.

I honestly do not like government regulation in this sphere...I know some will disagree, but geez, if your buying from an overseas vendor and injecting an product that isn't FDA approved, I would think most of these people aren't going to favor government limiting access. I don't think that will happen anytime soon, but they may go after the bigger RUO GLP vendors.
