Crystallized NAD+

Anyone has Nad+ do this? I used hospira BAC. I have tossed but am curious what caused it. First pep I’ve ever had an issue with

This was actually from one of the stateside resell companies that I paid way too much for. Before I learned how to order from across the pond.

Edit - this is the only pep that I got from them that did this. The rest did excellent.

Such a strange vial too. Was this a 1000mg? Have you tried letting it get to room temperature?

I use pens, so this is a 3ml pen cartridge. Yes, I let it sit out for about three hrs. Still looked the same so I tossed

Was the NAD buffered or unbuffered?? If unbuffered you need to add a small amount sodium bicarbonate to increase the pH to around 5.5 -6 and avoid the gel.. I'm not expert but I have been doing this for the last 10 vials and never had a gel issue...

It did not specify buffered so I'm guessing it was unbuffered. I'll look into getting some sodium bicarbonate for the next vial. Thanks

I understand sodium bicarbonate it’s baking soda, can describe in details your process to increase the pH?

Also how you measure the pH after?

If it's crystallised it could be over saturation. 3ml of bac isn't enough to reconstitute 1000mg of NAD+. I had the same thing happen to me, so now I use more bac. You probably want to be using 5ml bac at least. I use 6ml to be on the safe side because I don't like having to throw vials away.

It was a 500mg vial, and I used 6ml total BAC between two 3ml cartridges. Both cartridges did this. I used 3ml bac in the vial, then split that between the two cartridges. I then added another 1.5 BAC to each cartridge. I was super careful about contamination so I don't think there was an issue there. Just really strange

That is odd. 6ml is more than enough to reconstitute 500mg without it being over saturated. That's me all out of ideas

I have a kit that should be here tomorrow from across the pond, 500 mg. I may try doing one vial the same exact way so I will know if it was just a one off bad vial.
