Cerebrolysin: first cycle

I got 40 5 ml ampoules from JTP. These are the real deal - cerebroprotein hydrolysate. 215.6 mg/ml. If this were Ever Pharm in Austria, it would carry the brand name Cerebrolysin. This brand name product is not legally available in the USA. The product I bought is pharma grade with legit packaging. I think it’s Altra Pure brand (probably Indian or Chinese). I’m running 10 ml/day - one ampoule in the morning and one at night. This is my first experience with IM injection. My process: snap off the neck of the glass vial (wrapped in a paper towel to protect fingers and catch any wayward shards), draw up entire contents in a 5 ml Luer lock 18 g, then swap to a 30 g 1.5” needle. Stick it in my thigh and push HARD for about 2 minutes - that stuff moves SLOW through such a fine needle. But no soreness, which is crucial as I’m hitting each thigh daily.

The recommended therapeutic doses are high - much much higher than would be possible using 30 or 60 mg vials of lyophilized powder. Even my 10 ml per day is low compared to IV doses used in the 44 countries where Cerebro is approved for clinical use.

I’ll report back after 100 ml.

From what I’ve read, it seems crebroprotein hydrolysate from china is different from the Austrian product which is a purified actual brain product from pigs. Which isn’t to say it doesn’t work in some way. But there’s a paper out there listed on pubmed that shows hplc analysis for several products that claim to emulate cerebrolysin(Tm) and they are very different. Many of them are even fda approved within their countries… based on theory of being analagous to the ever pharma product.

That said , I’d be very interested in following along with your research findings! Always looking for things that help.

I’ll have to do more reading. One of our peers did a side by side comparison of Ever Pharm Cerebrolysin and Altra Pure CH. They both have the porky/bacon smell, both contain porcine neuroproteins and free amino acids. Altra Pure actually tests at 286 mg/ml and there is speculation this is intentional to compensate for degradation and account for any deficiencies in the manufacturing process that yield a lower concentration of the actual piglet brain proteins. This amateur researcher tested 150 ml of each and noticed subtle improvements in perceived cognitive function and memory. The research timeline wasn’t clear to me, however.

It may be purely a placebo effect, but after 4 days of 10 ml daily, I feel like I’m having fewer episodes of “I know I came into this room for something , what the heck was it again?”

Stay tuned.

Wow! Also porky smell 🤣. I love you’re using all the senses to observe. If I could keep my train of thought better, I’d be happy.

Keep on letting us know what’s happening! I wonder if there is some easy online memory/attention test/game thing you can do once a week to track your progress without getting too much better at it from practice since it’s n=1 single trial

These are from JTP? Surely for something so unusual whoever is reselling sent it out for Identity which should come with the HPLC LCMS (I think…) raw data (looks like line graphs). Are those available? If no one here can help us interpret that compared to published data, we can ask on Peppy’s.

From JTP, yes. Here’s what Jay linked from his price list (and he said he had difficulty finding a lab to test this.):

10 days, 100 ml (20 ampoules) DONE. Only logistical thing I would change is using a slightly bigger needle for the actual pin. 30g just takes too much force to move the plunger - my thumb was sore as hell by the time that last ml gets in. Think I’ll try 27g next. But there was zero pain and zero soreness afterwards.

The initial feeling of a “sharper mind” increased slowly but surely during the run. I literally don’t have that “what was I doing?” feeling at all any more. Now I’m pausing for a month specifically to gauge persistence.

If I were to go any further down this nootropic rabbit hole, I would get some of the Chinese powdered stuff and send it off to be tested alongside the real pharma stuff. The Altra Pure I’ve got has been proven to be the same as EverPharm’s original Cerebrolysin, albeit 33% higher concentration. These products contain the porcine infantile neural cells, as well as some free amino acids. I would like to know if the powder has the same properties, or perhaps it’s a more pure form (I.e., no free aa) AND what’s the state of the porcine neural material? Really question if those proteins survive the freeze drying process.

Im glad to hear you were okay with the IM. Im pretty nervous about that (but I was nervous about my first sub with glp1). I was going to go for the 30 needle as well so thank you for the advice!

I got the 25g needles, but my order hasn't moved in 6 days. We'll see.

As Zippity has astutely pointed out, gauge differences are literally “splitting hairs” - it must be purely psychological that a 31g insulin needle is painless but a 27g causes you to shriek.

Then 25g should be even more fun. I'll practice my dart throwing first.

That's great to hear!

I'm so eager to try this, but my tracking number still doesn't show any movement, even on 17 track. Hopefully it just hasn't been updated yet.

Mine shows stuck at the Moscow airport for the last 6 days. I sent an email and they said it's normal for international orders. I'm not so sure about that as I get international orders, but ok.🤞

Curious what is this Russian product? 5 or 10 ml ampoules of liquid cerebrosomething? Or 30-60 mg vials of lyophilized powder? Cost?

So they are reshipping genuine Austrian EverPharm Cerebrolysin? Wonder if they’re also repackaging it? Had heard anecdotally the EverPharm product wasn’t allowed in to US. This will be interesting. Please keep us updated. These products are of increasing interest to this community.

disregard my previous. I see it’s a Russian/Kazakh company producing their own cerebroprotein hydrolysate, which they are mistakenly selling as Cerebrolysin(TM), the original brand name produced by EverPharm of Austria.

Interesting. Is says; Controlled by the Austrian Federal Institute of Bacteriology and Serology.

Sterile. On the box in Russian and what the OP used.

Maybe producing under license from Austria? I like the amber ampoules. The Austrian and Chinese versions are in clear glass but then they tell you to keep it out of direct light.

So you still think it's close enough to actual Cerebrolysin to use? I could have bought the clear vials from my vendor, but from what I've read that's not what you want.
