I was reading this suspicious-link-removed article about a RUO company for sale NO SOURCE DISCUSSION! . The article brings up an interesting relationship between the company and their "independent" testing site. The article brings up a an interesting conversation about the relationship between these sellers and the company they use to perform their 3rd Party Testing...apparently, they are not separate entities...more like partners.

Read the article and let me know your thoughts...should we trust these COAs?

That is why I always tell myself that I am a fool praying for a goodwill from total strangers.

Janosik is praised as the most reliable tester, but lets hold on a sec. What's stopping anyone of us from making a pretty, professional looking false document with some Adobe Acrobat magic? Especially with AI these days? It's easier than a photo shop, really. How many of us are actually going to contact Janosik to validate that the tests were real? And if you want to put on a tinfoil hat, how do we know Janoshik won't lie to us?

We are engaging in these transactions as desperate people, so that make us perfect targets to prey on. The only thing that keeps this shoddy ecosystem going is the honor system.

There is a link on a Jano COA to the actual COA. I don't see a photoshopped COA as a risk becuse a vendor COA is next to worthless anyway. Who knows if it was cherry picked or if it even goes to that batch.

The reason you deal with and trust a place like Jano is referred to as "Reputational Risk". It is the same reason you trust McDonalds not to give you food poisoning. Their reputation is their business and the risk of their business falling apart is to great not to do things right. That doesn't mean Jano, or McDonalds, can never make a mistake but it means that it is in their best interest to try and do the right thing.

Definitely worth it to try to do your own testing whenever possible. I know that isn't always feasible with the cost of testing if you can't find a reliable group of people willing to pitch in with you, so at a minimum like someone else mentioned, make sure you get the link to the vendor COAs so you can verify that they aren't a photoshop job

Get CoA from the Jano link. If you can't believe that then no testing will solve your problem. You can't test every single vial which is what it would actually take.
