Can someone explain food noise on Tirz?

for me.... I still think about what I am going to eat for lunch and dinner. but now I can't decide because nothing sounds as good as it once would. I used to eat a few donuts before going to bed for a " quick snack". Now it's totally off the radar.

If, when you continue increasing dosage per standard protocol, you find the Day 6 effect still happening, it means you're a good candidate for 5-day or 3.5 day injection spacing. With adjusted dosage each time, of course.

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind over the coming weeks

(it's day 6 today... wish me and everyone around me luck 🤣 )

I’m on my second week of Tirzepatide at 5mg and honestly can’t fully tell whether the “food noise” is gone or if part of this is placebo.

That said, I do think I’m responding pretty well so far.

I’m currently doing 16:8 intermittent fasting. Once I break my fast around noon, I get full on meals where I’d normally go back for seconds. There are also moments where I genuinely don’t feel like eating. However, I still get occasional cravings — especially for peanuts — and I can still eat a couple handfuls without any issue. I initially thought Tirz would completely eliminate cravings/food noise, so I’m curious whether others still experience some cravings while responding well overall.

A few observations so far:

Lost just over 2kg in the first week (not sure how much is water weight vs actual fat loss)

No major side effects

Had sulphur burps one day, but nowhere near as bad as some stories I’ve read, and they disappeared after sleeping

My resting heart rate on Fitbit seems slightly elevated compared to normal, though I haven’t received any abnormal HR notifications

Overall I feel pretty good, but I’m trying to understand what “normal” early response actually looks like. Curious to hear from others:

Did cravings completely disappear for you?

How long did it take before the appetite suppression/food noise reduction became obvious?

Did anyone else notice a slight HR increase early on?
It sounds like it is starting to work .

GLP drugs do several things to eating behaviour. One which you have already noticed is early satiation, where you feel full after eating less than would previously be required to make you feel full. For me , I am not sure I had ever experienced this before, not being hungry enough to finish eating a fairly small plate of food after starting ozempic.

It can also cause food aversion, which is often associated with nausea, but you just do not feel like eating some foods that you previously did feel like eating.

It straight out reduces hunger, so you do not notice you have not eaten for longer than before, and eventually you think, I really should eat something.

It stops you thinking about food as much, ( I think this is what people call food noise ) and reduces cravings for high calorie foods. ( not sure it is possible to get rid of cravings totally )

It even changes people's shopping behaviour, on GLP's people buy healthier foods.

Tirzepatide increases heart rate especially early on, and it tends back towards normal over time. It does not increase heart rate as much as reta.

I only got suphur burps for a short time on tirz I think, I really do not understand what causes them, presumably microbiome changes, hopefully yours go away.

The first few weeks or month or so is too early to tell for weight loss, over that time scale a lot of weight change is going to be fluid loss anyway, it might take 2-3 months to get a clear picture of weight loss that is not just fluid.

If you are trying to lose weight, peanuts, though healthy are a very high calorie snack, very easy to get in 3 or 400 calories in without even trying, maybe measure them out in 20 gram or 100 calorie bags, so you can keep a lid on extra calories. I do this but my main snack food is fruit, most fruits are around 50 kcal/100 grams, unlike peanuts at 500kcal/100 grams, it is nearly impossible to get too many calories in eating fruit, 250 calories is half a kilo, really hard to actually eat that much at a time, without feeling too full. whereas you could do that with 100g of peanuts and do it several times day and easily gain weight.

Everyone's responses to these drugs in terms of effects and side effects and timing are a bit different, you mainly need to be guided by the drug company dosing schedule, which for tirz is actually sensible, and by how hungry you are, if you have side effects and rate of weight loss, and in my opinion, what dose you aim for is mainly dependent on how much weight you want to lose, if it is a lot like 20% body weight plus, then probably 15mg, and lower doses may work for lower weight loss targets.

Food noise for me was laying in bed and getting a random craving for a snack even if I just ate. I didn’t have the ability to see food and not eat it no matter what. I would clear my plate no matter the portion size. Tirz gave me the freedom to eat what sounds the best and healthiest option instead of ordering what I thought would have the largest portions
