I've been on Reta for 3-4 months, up to 8mg, was on 12.5 Tirz, made the switch. I'm not getting the appetite suppression, I've gained weight 14lbs, still same workout routine, but I am huuuungry, I know I'm eating more.

Do I go back to Tirz, or drop my Reta back to staring dose and go back to Tirz, feeling a bit down on myself and lost.

Mid 40's Female, lost 85lbs on Tirz originally, but had leveled out, hence why the switch to Reta.

I'm new to Reta, still. I'm a month in at 4mg/week. I was on Tirz at 10mg/week. So, I pin Reta on Friday, and 7.5mg Tirz on Monday. Planning on taking Tirz down to 5mg. I love the appetite suppression it gives. So far, so good. No horrible effects, and it seems to balance the hungrier feeling I get from Reta. Hope this helps.

How long have you been at 8mg? That’s a common trigger point of Reta to engage food suppression for lot of people..

That said, Reta suppression and Tirz suppression are different, and at this point for you, being experienced with both, awareness of how your body responds to both, I don’t see why a stack of the two wouldn’t be a good idea to try. Titrating 5-7mg of Tirz back into your regimen could be the answer, but only your body will say.

I started with Tirz, cross titrated Reta up, and retain Tirz in a smaller dose for it’s noise reduction myself. Good luck!

I've been for almost 8 weeks. Looking back at my tracker its actually 5 months on Reta.

Thanks, I've haven't seen as much info on people stacking Reta and Tirz, trying to dig more info up to help get a protocol. I know we are wading into the grey zone of things, but stacking is new to me. I know for folks here it is the norm.

The zero food noise on Tirz, didn't realize, you don't know what you don't know.

I'm thinking about stacking too. However, I haven't been super diligent with taking reta. I do feel appetite suppression but not as much and I've taken up to 12mg reta. I get too tired when I go up that high. I've gained about 7lbs over the last 5 mnths. Just deciding if I want to do tirz only or stack.

So you kept your tirz at a tolerated dose and stacked reta, titrating slowly? Now you're at a clinical dose with reta and small dose of tirz? I am considering something like this, mostly based on the side effects I've experience with both.

You might consider adding Cagrilintide, if you can wait a month for it to drag through the shipping process. It makes a great complement to Reta's weakness at appetite suppression. It worked for me but I went back to Tirz since I was getting allodynia, possibly from titrating up too quickly on Reta.

Can I ask why you switched? I get that reta is still newish and people are jumping on the bandwagon, but if you were doing well on tirz....why not just switch back? I have seen plenty of peeps stacking both on reddit, but you could also add in cag for the appetite suppression.

I will do my homework here, but what are you taking of the Cagrilintide number wise? Take the same day or stagger. I titrated up very slowly on the Reta, have't had any side effects.

I started slow with Cagri (0.4mg) because everyone was saying how strong it was. Now I'm at about 2mg weekly, but split-dosed. I think I'm kind of a weak responder to it. I can't attribute any bad side effects to it except perhaps fatigue. But I much prefer that to allodynia (since I'm retired and can take a nap now and then!).

You might want to check out reddit for some more individual accounts of Cagri users and their doses.

I had worked my way up to 12.5 mg of tirz, and the scale just stopped moving. I took a break from calorie restriction to see if that might reset things, but it didn’t seem to help. I also do not think I’d tolerate going above 12.5.

Around that same time, I got Covid and then shingles back to back. That may have had nothing to do with it, but once the weight loss stalled on tirz, I started looking at what else might help.

So far I’ve lost 85 lbs on tirz, and I still have about 40 more to go. I’m female, mid-40s, and pretty active. I cycle, hike, lift weights, and regularly haul around a 50 lb feed bag without thinking twice. Getting this last stretch of weight off feels really important to me.

What I’m struggling with now is whether going back on tirz alone will just put me right back in the same place. Do I stay with reta and stack tirz? Or look at something like cagrilintide instead?

I’ve only ever taken one peptide at a time, so once people start talking about stacking, what to combine, and when to do it, I end up stuck in a decision loop.

I'm going to spend tonight researching Cagri. I was only looking at Tirz as that is what I came from, but if Cagri is working for a number of folks I'll search up on it

Oh wow, ok that’s a significant amount of time and you should have felt whatever you were going to feel from 8mg for sure.

I still support you adding Tirz back in. I agree that Cagri is very common around here used for food noise suppression as well (and that it works), however my argument would be that you already know your body’s response to Tirz, I would imagine this would help you more easily commit your indecision loop to both Reta and Tirz, no?

Yep! Of course every body is different, but for now this is working very well for me and will only change it up if I run up on some intolerable sides. The allodynia comes and goes for sure, but I’m willing to deal with it to hit goal, then I’ll find what I need becomes maintenance doses, whether that’s baby doses of both still, or just some Tirz to keep making smarter choices easier, remains to be seen.

A more conservative starting dose for cagri is 250 mcg (0.25 mg) or 300 mcg (0.3 mg).

Weight loss effects noted in one study even for their lowest dose of 300 mcg weekly.

3 percent weight loss with 300 mcg vs. almost 8 percent weight loss with 4.5 mg:

Can you stack Tirz/Reta on the same day. I know most dont, but can you?

Since my bridge from Tirz to Reta, I've taken Tirz 6 times totaling 14mg. Of those 6 times, 4 have been the same day as the Reta, 2 of the 4 were taken at the same time as the Reta.

No idea why that would be a bad idea, aside from the lack of a coherent plan associated with the dosing.
