Are gray semaglutide pills a thing?

Title. I know Wegovy (Semaglutide) Pills just got approved, but I’ve never seen any source sell them. Is this a demand issue or is it fundamentally harder to produce for our Chinese friends?

My understanding is that the coating is difficult to replicate for the gray market. I am sure someone will pipe in with more information

Pills were readily available a few years ago, back when we had a few suppliers with price lists three pages long. Consensus at the time was that they didn't work. However, the early clinical trials from big pharma at that same time also said they weren't as good as the injectables. Compounders were also making them, and there were Facebook ads. This led to Facebook groups of Karens upset that they got scammed because the pills never worked. I was surprised to hear that they got FDA approval. I personally wouldn't take gray pills.

I thought SSA had some. No clue if they actually worked. I know some vendors have the pron pill, but even those are overfilled, so dosing would be really weird with them.

I still have to request a bed for blood work or I almost pass out in a puddle of sweat. Eyes closed and in my own world. There is something in my head about drawing my own blood. I also do dry needling therapy and if the doc talks about the needles bending and dulling fast, that can set it off too. Yet here I am pinning at least 6 subq and 2 IM daily and look forward to it.

My wife recently passed out getting her finger pricked. Anxious to see how she does with the insulin syringes when she starts pinning

You can tell her about malabsorbsion, it's not rare for people Who struggle with obesity, for example, i take Iron Intra veinous cause Pills don't work.

I wouldn't risk taking something less efficient.

I would guess that the pills have semaglutide in them but would be surprised if they had the SNAC component that allows a few percent to get absorbed. I do not think it is a commonly used or available agent so would be surprised if the peptide makers sourced it and included it. So it would likely have close to zero absorption and just get broken down by stomach acids and protein and peptide degrading enzymes in the gut, and effectively do nothing.

Researching pills for a reason.

I ask because my daughter has same issue as me for weight. She off to Dublin Ireland for college and can’t continue the Semaglutide and tirz she’s been using. The pills would be a great solution for her. Or she will be going off all glutides entirely.

Not sure if I answered you already, ha ha. I am a baby with needles. I still get nervous & its been like 6mo now 2x a week. You can get her a refillable screw on ice bag & have her ice the area before, make sure you take out in advance so its room temp, & I even wear headphones w relaxing music have my husband do it so I can close my eyes & relax (I just pinch the area). If you dont have any yet, pens are so much better & I use the 33g 4mm tips (so they're super tiny). Hope it gets better for her!!

Because if they were legit, Lilly and Novo would make them.
