Well, I would imagine, anything that was supposed to be going through the straight of Hormuz will end up being rerouted or unable to leave port safely and delays can ensue.

Yeah, interesting...never even thought of it until now. Hmmmm

The blockade at Hormuz will be a nightmare in a hot minute.

Do you remember when the ship ran aground at the Suez? With so much commerce depending on global logistics to run smoothly, disruptions can be devastating.

Since we are talking shipping. I am in the US and bought from China (I thought) right before CNY and just got the first tracking number out of Kissimmee FL a couple days ago.

Is that a depot? was it in FL all the time?
Perhaps your seller has a US whse in Florida?

For Central Europe mine was re-labeled near an large Airport and then shipped to me with local DHL. How it got to Central Europe is the great mistery... I don´t think by ship, because it was too fast and also not by truck 🤣

I've had 1 hung up for an extended period of time, but think it's more to do with the vendor than with anything geopolitical/war-related.

This is the exact sequence of notifications I received when I placed my first order with a particular vendor. It's actually coming from CN. It will more than likely not have any movement for about 2-3 more weeks. I bet the forwarder is Slow Sheep if you look at the tracking in USPS.

If so then you're less likely to get a customs letter if the shipment is confiscated. so there's that!

If china sends it to a US forwarder and customs seizes it the forwarder will get the seizure notice instead of you.
