Hey guys,

just wanted to give a quick update on my 1 month Reta experience so far.

For the last 3 injections I upped my dose to 2mg every 5 days, which would be around 2.8mg a week. Hunger suppression is okay, I’d rate it maybe a 5.5/10 if 0/10 is my normal hunger before Reta. I do get full pretty fast though (could also be because I’m in a solid deficit currently)

The weird thing is, I still get hungry again after like 2–3 hours, even after feeling like I ate an all you can eat buffet after a normal portion, but it’s way more bearable than before. I’m thinking about upping the dose to 4mg a week soon for more of the glucagon benefit.

BUT I don’t know if it’s because I’m already pretty lean and fatigued from dieting, or maybe a combination of both, but I honestly feel emotionally dull lately. Usually I love playing games at night, that was basically the highlight of my day before, but currently I just don’t really feel like it anymore.

It’s not depression or anything serious, more like a low-energy type of mood. Kind of the same mood you’d have when you’re hungry and drained, just without actually feeling hungry, if that makes sense.

What’s your guys’ experience with this part of Retatrutide, if you even had it? I found a lot of people saying they feel similar on it, but then there’s always the opposite side saying they feel completely fine.

Really interested to hear your experiences related to this

I have felt like that for the last few months. It's like I don't feel like doing things that I once enjoyed. I have been at 2.5mg every 3.5 days for the last few weeks and the Anhedonia is starting to ease up a little. The fatigue comes and goes but I find that if I get enough protein consistently throughout the day instead of once or twice a day like I have been, I don't feel as exhausted.

Thats interesting honestly, how are the benefits of that dose for you, doing 5mg a week?

The first two weeks it made me sick. I was pinning weekly but I decided to split the dose and that seemed to do the trick. Now the only time I feel like crap is when I don't eat enough or get enough hydration.

I personally would describe what I have more as apathy, looking up the definition of anhedonia, I still get joy out of things, I just don't have the motivation to do those things. I guess I had a moment when I messaged my partner after delivery day telling him how much joy I get from labeling (I love crafting) that I realised I still do find joy in things so anhedonia doesn't feel like the right label.

That being said, I know it's a problem. I went and got my bloods done and I have Vitamin D deficiency so now supplementing for that I'm hoping that helps, and I'm cycling back on semax from tomorrow. Some little things I hope will help me see some improvement.

I also know I don't get enough protein so I think I need to work on that, I'm my own worst enemy haha

So yesterday was day two on my second cycle of semax. This time from a different vendor. And I was SO PRODUCTIVE. Things I had on my to do list for weeks finally got done.

Idk if my last lot (which was from a single vial reseller) was just junk or what but I’m hoping this effect continues.

Been there had it happen and quit RETA for a month getting better. There is another newed post here about the same topic I gave a longer reply. and others posted on it as well. I doesn't effect everyone but it does me. Oh also I was on a low dose and only 8 weeks in when it hit me.

Not only reta but also sema and tirz can cause anhedonia. Though not officially listed in most leaflets, this "emotional blunting" is a known side effect driven by how GLP-1/GIP medications affect the brain's dopamine and reward centers.

I get full pretty fast, just like you. But then, I'm good for the next 24 hours, basically. So I guess that's where we have different experiences. I don't feel hunger immediately. And also, I have to mention, I do OMAD. And I have been doing OMAD for years now. And then when I introduced reta, then I'm still continuously fasting for 24 hours daily, but then my calories are considerably lower now because I get full within a few bites. And I am doing a weekly dose of 1 mg and have been doing that for the past 7 weeks. So I started 7 weeks ago and I have not decided to titrate up because that 1 mg is the sweet spot for me. And maybe the reason why you have a low energy type of mood is because you aren't getting enough carbohydrates. So I've done a lot of experimentation on myself, and ever since I started taking reta, my calories have been considerably lower, and I noticed that on the days I consume like 50 grams of carbohydrates the next day, it's a really weird feeling. I'm not hungry because of reta's effects, but I am super drained and low energy. But then, that same day, I consume like 150 to like 220 grams of carbohydrates, and then the next day I'm back to normal. And keep in mind, I track my calories, so I notice that even when the calories are exactly the same, how I feel day to day greatly depends on the amount of carbohydrates I get the previous day. And I lift daily and get in about 105 to 110 grams of protein daily; I keep that constant. For macronutrients, the only thing that changes for me is the dietary fat content and the carbohydrate content. So you should definitely try upping your carbohydrate intake if you're feeling drained, and that fixes all the problems. And you said you're pretty lean, and I'm also fairly lean as well. And when you're extremely lean, while calories are super low and you're never hungry because of reta, then carbs are gonna save you, mentally and physically.

Interesting experience for sure. I eat enough carbs honestly around 200g+ a day, some before my lifts and after especially for restoring glcyogen, and my protein intake is 150g minimum everyday currently in my cut. Maybe my body doesn't have that much fat to use for energy currently and tries to fight me for it.

We'll find out when I start eating maintenance or lean bulk again

What's your height and weight? 200 g of carbs should suffice with the energy levels. And also, are you feeling cold?

maybe. it depends on how lean you are.

I felt so blunted too at just 1mg however I hyper respond to everything. I backed off to .6mg, then realized that was too low so ive settled at .8mg. I feel more motivated again, good appetite but no cravings if that makes sense.

Its such a exciting topic, how different people react so different to dosages etc. but in general we all get the "effects" of Reta.

Makes me think there is maybe a mental component to it, people who see food as fuel and people like me who see it for mouth orgasms hahah

Yeah, same here, also a hyper responder to everything, and currently just at 1 mg seems to do the trick.

Hmm Okay, so you are lean, so it could maybe just be the side effects of reta. So you are getting appetite suppression, but then feeling lethargic so I'm thinking maybe it could be that your dosage is too high. For me, the day after I pin myself 1 mg, I feel slightly fatigued, like mentally and physically. But then the next day after that day, I'm back to normal. So if you're getting the effects of reta and the side effects of reta, maybe next week lower the dosage and see how you feel.

Yes I did already lower my dose. Seems to be the trigger

Yeah, that's just how it is with these weight loss drugs. It's crazy to think how different we all are because the same mg dose would not work at all for another person, but then for another person, it would be enough. So it's a lot of experimentation going on here. And it's a lot of researching on ourselves, which is kind of fun. But there's still a good amount of anecdotal evidence reading from forums and watching videos and Reddit threads. So always learning more!

I really don't get the appetite supression benefit that much on lower dose and since I'm on, I never had fatigue or anything after pinning.

Let's see how it goes
