"Previous recommendations stated that patients should try exercise and other lifestyle interventions to lose weight before choosing pharmaceutical solutions. Now, however, the ACC is recommending that cardiologists and other healthcare providers consider these medications [GLP-1] as a first-line treatment option for eligible patients ."

Friend of mine was prescribed Ozempic to treat her fatty liver issues even tho she has no weight issues. I still get surprised by all the benefits of these glp1 agonists.

This is a great article! My insurance doesn't cover this. I wonder if it will change? I don't mind reconstituting my peps, but it would be great if my insurance covered name brand.

In my case my insurance covers it. But my doctor wants me to loose weight naturally, even tho I have asked repitedly for a little medical help, guess I'll be doing gray.

Oh my gosh, if you qualify for it and your insurance covers it, maybe get a new doc, or add an internet doc 🙂 Callondoc is fantastic, 39.99 a virtual visit, they prescribe branded GLP-1 meds and do prior auths as well. Your copay for branded may be cheaper than grey.

Yeah, I was afraid my doc would say the same thing. I started on compound through a Telehealth before going grey. I finally went to my doc AFTER I lost the weight. I'm now back in the system and he is prescribing maintenance doses for me. Its not like he can deny that I lost over 100lbs on the medication.
