Yes you should send a little extra to cover gas fees.

One concern I have with people using bitcoin is if you're going to hold on to it for more than a day or two. Bitcoin price fluxuiate quiet a bit. Which is why people use stable coins.

You might be better off buying PYUSD Paypals stable coin send that to exodus and swap for USDC or USDT then send that over instead.
Same thing would apply to Venmo? Buy PYUSD send to exdodus then swap for whichever stable the vendor prefers? Is there any settling or gas fees when swapping between stables in Exodus? I've only ever bought bitcoin in Coinbase then transferred to a cold wallet so this is new to me.

Appreciate the thread.

There will be a fee yes. You'll get a little less of what you're swapping too.

Thank you! That's super helpful info.

Ok, maybe you can help with this: I had bought $1 SOL on Paypal to experiment; the purchase went fine, but when I tried to transfer it to Exodus, I keep getting an error message from payPal: "Not available in your region." I've done all the verification on PP necessary, and tech support wasn't sure why this is happening.
Some states like NY really crack down on crypto. You also might have to wait for funds to settle on paypal first. You also might not have enough to transfer out.

Here's what grok says...

Key Details on PayPal's Crypto Features

PayPal allows users in the U.S. and U.S. territories to buy, sell, hold, and transact with Solana (SOL), along with other assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Chainlink, and PayPal USD (PYUSD). However, the ability to transfer crypto out to external wallets has strong regional limitations due to regulatory requirements.

External transfers are explicitly enabled primarily for U.S. users, and even then, support for specific coins like SOL may be limited compared to core ones (e.g., BTC, ETH, LTC, BCH, and PYUSD often have clearer external transfer paths).

In many other countries, PayPal supports buying/selling/holding crypto in a more limited way (or not at all), and outgoing transfers to external wallets like Exodus are often blocked entirely, resulting in exactly the error you're seeing.

Some sources indicate that while SOL buy/sell/hold was added for U.S. users, external transfers for SOL specifically were not fully rolled out or remain unavailable in certain contexts, even in the U.S. (though PYUSD on Solana network is transferable).

I’m feeling a bit stuck… I bought BTC in cash app to send to vendor, but cash app is giving me $1000/week limit. I sent the first $1000, but now have the rest I need to send for the order in cashapp, unable to send for another week, according to their limits. I need to get this order done- what should I do? Buy more BTC on coinbase? Moon pay? I keep hitting hurdles in this process and am feeling quite overwhelmed at what to do to get this order paid for and done. Thanks for any suggestions… please mansplain any advice. Crypto is way over my head and I’m completely lost.

I'll try another way. PP customer service said it was due to 'security' reasons, and my account would not be allowed to transfer.

Althouggh the rates may be steeper, would buying through Exodus be a good second option? I'll also try buying PYUSD and see if i can transfer that.

Thanks so much for your help, by the way.

If you can buy through Exodus that's a good option too. IF you can open a coinbase account that could work.

Figure MArkets is a good place too. They are another publicaly traded company that has wonderful customer service.

Would you agree with Tron and/or Sol being the lowest fee networks to use with USDT? Just trying to compare with what vendors take.

Yes.

Tron is massive in Asia. I think most take either. Honestly there's no reason not to,

I just wanted to come here and say thank you Cdub for starting this thread and sharing info with the community. I followed you suggestions and paying with BTC was almost(took 3 days to process on Coinbase) as easy as just putting in a credit card. I appreciate the help and knowledge!

It depends on what the vender takes and how long you're willing to hold the crypto.

USDC/USDT are the most stable. The problem is most people use the ETH network to send them which cost a lot.

Onbe way around that is those stable coins (USDC/USDT) can be sent on Base, SOL AVAX network. Those are much cheaper to use. That being said you better make sure they know and the vendor gave you the network address. Because if you send SOL USDC to a ETH USDC address it is lost forever.

SOL can have big price movements, but is super cheap (pennies to send) and fast.

What I would do is open a major exchange account on coinbase, CDC, kraken etc... A place you can connect your bank to and not worry. Deposit some cash and let it sit there until it clears the ach transfer. Then you can buy whatever the vendor wants and move it to a warm wallet before sending it to them.

BL

BTC/ETH - More expensive network fees

SOL/AVAX/POLY etc... - Cheaper fees.
Just want to make sure I understand since I am in the process of trying this for the first time as well:

I’ve deposited into Kraken, once the deposit clears I can buy whichever coin I am sending to a vendor, but I should not or can not send directly from Kraken? I should or have to send to my TrustWallet first and then to vendor from there?

Thanks in advance for the clarification and help!

That is correct.

You CAN send to the vendor directly from Kranken.

Pro - Less transfers, less gas fees

Cons - The government (through Kraken) might block the transfer and lock your account

Better send to trustwallet from Kranken then send to vendor.

Pro - Better privacy less risk

Cons - Extra transfer and gas fees (on Solana, we are talking pennies so not a big deal)

You're welcome!

I'm learning a lot about peptides from the community and this is one way I can give back.

Any thoughts on Krak? I saw it for the first time when I was cresting my Kraken account, it looks like it would allow p2p payments where we could convert $ to crypto for payment like any other currency or did I misunderstand how it works? My thinking was that it would allow us to just deposit $, convert to crypto, and send crypto to vendors without the usual hold times and some of the fees, provided we could convince the vendors to sign up to it. Let me know any thoughts/opinions or clarifications lol

It's a Venmo-type payment method. Honestly, I don't think it would work for what we are doing here. Chinese vendors aren't going to want to sign up for a Kraken payment system.

Unless you already have crypto on your exchange, you're going to have to wait when transferring money out.

Hey everyone. I'm new to Peptides, but NOT new to crypto.

I'm happy to help and answer any questions you might have.
Long story short: I was able to setup an Exodus wallet, following the guide PayPal / USDT / Solana Crypto Guide 10.21.25 pinned at the top of Crypto Corner, and made my first crypto purchase/GM Peptide transaction.

The problem/question I have: Did I do it right and/or most efficiently?

I used the guide up to page 15 and purchased $5 of SOL for gas fees. I tried to continue and use PayPal to fund my Exodus wallet, but it gave me issues and I read in here that you could fund your wallet inside of Exodus so I went that route.

I used Apple Pay, backed with my debit card, and it ran me thru MoonPay and a few clicks later my Exodus wallet received my transfer. The problem is my $350 withdrawl from my bank netted me only a little over $330 to my Exodus wallet after Network fee, Moonpay fee, and Ecosystem fee. Is over 5% in fees the expected cost from bank to crypto wallet or was there a better way?

Not sure if I should pat myself on the back or slap myself upside the head, but that whole process was stupid stressful considering the relatively small amount of money. I guess the better term would be: Unnatural

I appreciate anyone's perspective.

Thanks.

That sounds about right. My big problem buying from exodus is excatly your issue. The fees. That's why I recomend US based exchanges like Figure Markets, Coinbase, kraken. Those take extra time to set up though.

Ultimatly you should do what works for you. But if you want to save money on fees open an account at an exchange.

Thanks for the reply.

I will look into opening a Coinbase account.

The sad part is this whole process may have been all for nothing as the supplier is attempting a bait-and-switch after agreeing to and accepting payment.

Not sure what I have for recourse other that screenshots of the chat on Discord and their receipt of payment.

The only recourse you have is to threaten to put them on blast.

I setup a Coinbase account and attached a payment method (debit card).

Since I still have a balance in my Exodus wallet of USDC and a small amount of SOL, when I go to buy do I select the only USDC option or Solana? Sorry for the stupidity, but I don't need another couple hundred dollar lesson in what NOT to do.

Thanks again for all your help.

I did but another of the multiple people is saying it was a scammer (she may be one as well so there in lies the problem). Bottom line, I'm done with Discord.
