What is your experience with using PENS?

I think the key is whether you're going to filter or pin daily. If you're using thick oils or large proteins then filtering may be problematic. If you're not filtering and pinning 1/wk, why waste time and money doing 5 shots in a pen. If you're doing 20+ shots and multiple pens, it's just an assembly line, and saves time.

My hormones are in grapeseed oil and are the main driver for getting pens. (They are prescribed and come already suspended in the oil. S ex hormones are hydrophobic.)

My peptides will be happy to come along.

Would the oil make a difference in which I should buy? My best guess is It would just take the spring longer to push the amount, right? I am using the same syringes for peptides and my Rx if that helps.

I can’t find much online. A few sites that aren’t familiar seem to indicate it’s the same. Just want to check I am not missing something.

I have no experience, but I've definitely seen complaints online about oils in Bird pens not fully dosing. I don't know what needle gauge they were using, but if it was thick (or IM) I'd go with 25ga anyway. Sorry, not that much help, but I'd stick with the manual pens.

I have only used pens for peps, even using slin-pins for oils is a pain 25g for oils. Seem to getting a little stack of pens going must have 10 or so now.

Sharing my learnings: the short answer is yes oils are a bit of an annoyance to work with compared to water. Worth it IMO.

Ordered some V2s from pep pens, they came quickly.

My first use, I waited 30s before removing the pen and there was still oil coming out so that was not great.

I was previously pre-warming vials in my bra in order to help the oil pull into my syringe. Greatly helped (swabbing the tops before piercing of course). So with pens I have been pre-heating with an electric heating pad on low.

Upped my wait to a full minute after last click and I haven’t had any real leakage. Still get the slight drip so it seems I shouldn’t be backing up into the cart.

Still much quicker than syringes, not counting warming time in both cases.

Water and oil both are effectively incompressible, I’ve no concerns over dosing volumes. I feel way too confident so correct me if I’m wrong - over confidence is the thing that can bite a person.

The gauge is what I could order from PP, they’re 31 ga. Manual I’ve been fine with 29 and 31.

For water based, they’re breeze easy.

And I can see why they’re collectible: handsome finish. As if I needed more things to accumulate! 🫠😂.
