have you noticed any of this effects that I hear a lot on the internet such as reta made me not wanna talk to women anymore or reta made me hate the felling you get from doing *** and all the most important one is that it destroys the relationship.

is there any truth to this ? i'm on week 5 with 2mg of reta

It definitely makes drinking at all pretty unappealing to my RS. RS is in a long term relationship, but it definitely hasn’t impacted their relationship at all. The effects you’re describing relate to how reta interacts with the dopamine reward system. I’ve heard of it even improving OCD symptoms and others, but high doses can lead to anhedonia. The good news is that it is all temporary and the RS will recover if it becomes an issue that leads the research to stop.

I believe you're referring to the recently published study that talks about GLP's, including Reta, blunting the dopamine pathways.

It seemed to be backed up with some reasonable science, at least to my mostly uneducated brain.

I will say that I did notice some things becoming 'less enjoyable', and not just food, but other things. However, it was subtle. I noticed this a few months before the study was published, but it never really occurred to me in a way that was obvious enough to notice.

The blunting of the dopamine pathways, though, is ever more interesting when you see the results surrounding helping people with addictions - be it gambling or alcohol etc. Now thats super interesting tom me!

As for the social media slop of 'It made me hate my girlfriend' - thats total rubbish. Does it blunt the feelings a tiny bit? The science suggests so. But if it suddenly makes you hate your significant other, there's something else going on there. In my humble opinion, of course.

I am curious about other's experiences with anhedonia as well, based on some changes I have experienced. I don't know if I would call it a blunting of pleasurable activities, but I am not near as driven or the people pleaser and perfectionist I was six months ago. This has not been an issue in my marriage, because my husband is laid back and always thought I was too hard on myself anyway.

I have noticed I am much more flexible with myself at work (my internal deadlines have always been stricter than any imposed) and much more comfortable with deprioritizing projects. I don't think it has made me less effective or presents as a performance issue, but I work very independently in a role that really operates behind the scenes unless someone does something really stupid or dangerous, so any real change may have just gone unnoticed thus far.

Considering what you said about helping people with addictions, I realized my online shopping is almost nonexistent. If that is anhedonia, I'm here for it.

On reta, I feel i'm more focus on my goal. i'm not distract anymore by searching for pleasure. I'm a huge fan of microbrewing beer and strongs IPAs. Thats was my weekness for the past years cut. with Reta the tentation is not even there... my brother texted me to go try some crazy beers he got. It was very easy to be disciplined and say ''no thanks you, i'm on a cut for the moment''.

i don't really know if this has anything to do with reta, but since taking it for 5 weeks i'm feeling quite depressed and lonely and desperate to find a gf even tho I didn't care about it before taking reta. Like I was very locked in on my goals and didn't want a distraction (gf) before starting on reta which was 5 weeks ago 2 mg but now like I said Its the only thing i'm thinking about (how to get or find a gf)

one more thing :

I started 30mg of accutane too 1 week before starting reta

Never heard this. Certainly haven’t experienced it. But I’m also on other stuff that makes you want to do the things with your wife… and her friends…

Just kidding honey…

But……… maybe?

Yes, it is true It can make you lose interest in everything from sex to just working out. I understand its due to it crashing your dopamine. I have been off Reta for 2 weeks now and feel a little better. It did not effect me the first 2 months I was using then it started. Lots of people saying add some other peptides to counter it. So I am looking into that and will try again. Also some have stated that being in a calorie deficit can cause issues. The weight loss is worth it if you start feeling flat or lose your sex drive just stop unless you are single then it shouldn't matter. Now it doesn't do this to everyone so you should try it and see how you do on it, Some have said it made them feel like they were 20yrs again and helped with workouts so everyone is different!
