Reta and food noise

I find I have food noise at the end of the week maybe the day or 2 before I pin again. I’m guessing I have it due to staying on 2mg a week. Trying to stay as low as possible. But when I do eat I still get full quick and my cravings for sugar and everything else are gone or at least I’ve trained myself to stop eating crap
I’m having a similar experience 7 weeks in. I titrated up to 1.5mg on Mon and then Fri too but had some uncomfortable skin sensitivity, now I’m splitting it 1mg Mon and Fri no more side effects and I’m still activity losing weight - 17lbs down since 2/14

I’ve been messing around with reta even though tirz was working perfectly fine with me. You know us researchers…

I find that I have more cravings and that food smells and tastes better…but I feel full super fast. I like liking food if that makes sense.

And I’ve lost more weight than I intended. BMI on the low side of 20 now which is not what I planned.

Body fat percent is still good but I’ve put on a little fat due to laziness.

I think reta has made it easy to maintain about 10 lbs of loss with doing nothing extra.

I think…if I go back on straight tirz with bumps of sema as needed I will gain about 10 lbs back doing nothing different. I think. Metabolically I think that is what glucagon does for me. Anymore I will be one of those folks who had to drop out due to becoming under weight.

Anyways..the question is about food noise. For me the noise isn’t bad but more than tirz. And the extra noise never showed up on the scale and in fact it did the opposite.

I don’t consider myself super responder but I’ve never had to play with more than tirz 5, reta 4, and bumps of sema 0.25. Played with survo and cag but I didn’t notice anything different. They all work.

My 2 cents

Wondering what peoples opinions are on food noise & appetite suppression on Reta as opposed to MJ?

Used MJ for 10 months last year and found it great for stopping the food noise and my appetite was near non existent. Seen mixed reviews from others that Reta may not have the same affect? I’ve started on 2mg Reta for the last 2 weeks and not seeing any real difference, do I need to be patient or is this normal with Reta?
Depending on your dose with MJ it could take some time. I switched straight from 2.5 mg of MJ to 2.5 ish of Reta, the first 2 weeks were ok. Now that I’m at about the one month mark the physical satiation is so strong I can barely eat anything without feeling nauseous.

The “food noise” reduction on MJ probably won’t come back until you titrate to a higher dose, but as of right now I feel like an apathetic robot towards food lol. The effect is pretty different, but the results are better for me. Longer half life, cheaper, and slightly higher energy is also cool.

Sadly I’m switching back to Manjaro because I’m in Japan now and can’t get syringes. Stick with it I’m jealous of you lol.

Fun fact check local colleges for extreme discounts in dexa scans. Mine will cost 75 instead of 200 from some other places.
dumb question incoming: med colleges, physical therapy focused...?

No such thing as a dumb question! The college im going to tomorrow is just a run of the mill normal college. They have a kinesiology program and thats the department I am going to. When I lived in another state a college in town did the same. Might take some googling but id bet if you are in a decent sized city you will find one. Im getting the dexa to directly compare to the in body so I can see how close they are. The scale is a liar! Lol

I was up to 7.5mg on MJ and the thought of food was literally non existent, I had to force myself to eat at times. I deffo think long term Reta will be better for me, especially that I’m training a lot more so hoping will feel the benefits that way!

Can you not buy an insulin pen you can fill yourself? I know a couple of sellers in the UK sell them with the cartridges, not sure about Japan though lol!

A couple of years back I did a dexa and then shortly after the big inbody thing. They were very very close. After doing a couple more dexa scans I realized that I needed to be in a similar fasted or unfasted state. Big difference when I went in the first time early before breakfast and the following time directly after 15 wings , cheese fries, and 40oz Diet Coke. Or so lol. Fouled the data. The original dexa and inbody that had basically matching measurements were both done early and before eating anything.

Lol. Yes will be doing both this am in empty tummy.

Well the big thing between inbody and dexa was a 10% difference in body fat percentage 🤯. Only 7 pounds lost in March as compared to February my first month on Reta. 225 start Mid January. 198 today.

thank you for all of that great info! I'm going to hunt around.

Reta is not as effective for food noise as tirz. A lot of folks take both reta and lower dose of tirz. Some add cagri for food noise too
This is exactly what I do mate, I think this is probably the best way.

I been on Reta for over 12 months, and I’ve only just recently added Cag into the mix.

4-5 R

1-1.5 C

I got a pretty decent amount of food noise supression from Reta on my starting dose of 1mg. I eventually went up to 1.5mg > 2mg > 3mg and now 4mg. Food noise never really got bad though, only reason I went up was because I could feel it running out a tad bit before my next dose. The titration fixed that though.

That said, there is still a little bit of noise. Its just not loud enough to bother me at all. Before starting Reta I had been on a 1500 calorie diet for about 9 months so I got used to saying no to food (even if it was hard). Reta gave me just the right edge needed to diminish the hypnotic affect of food haha. I guess we'll see if titrating any further becomes necessary or not. Im still only 1 month into this whole thing.

No syringes are illegal without a prescription. Very frustrating because you can import many prescription medications without a prescription here, but they draw the line at needles lol.

I know of people doing Reta here but they never talk about how they get the syringes.

Damn that’s so backwards lol, need to find someone in the aesthetic industry or somewhere like that who can hook you up 😂

That's because of the half-life of 6 days or so. I actually wonder how much difference there is between actual suppliers/labs. I was reading some stuff on TG like platform on how one "hits" harder than another.

I'm a DIY guy that always try's to find a work around for everything. With your low dose, I would add Reta into a nasal spray bottle with some saline and see if I could maybe use it once or twice a week. I haven't heard if that being done, however I would give it a try over going without Reta.

I have a friend who has a prescription for testosterone back in Brazil, and he’s able to import syringes. I asked him how I should go about it and he looked at me like im some kinda crack head. I’m pretty sure most trt clinics here don’t allow self injection either so I can rule that out lol.

Plus if I was in trt I probably wouldn’t spend as much effort trying to stay lean lol. Also it’s like 3 times the price as Manjaro. Looks like I got to make some diabetic friends that can help me out.

Did you consider putting Reta into a refillable injection pen?

I’m pretty sure those also fall under the same restrictions and normal insulin syringes unless you are importing a prefilled pen.
